DESCRIPTION

The multiplex network body ECU detects the condition of each door courtesy switch and sends a signal to each door ECU via the multiplex communication circuit.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

HINT
The procedure is the same for each door courtesy switch circuit. First, inspect the suspected door courtesy switch circuit.

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM

(a) Check the DATA LIST for proper functioning of the courtesy switch.

Condition sign can be displayed.

Result:





D -- INSPECT DOOR COURTESY SWITCH (REAR LH OR REAR RH)

C -- INSPECT DOOR COURTESY SWITCH (FRONT RH)

B -- INSPECT DOOR COURTESY SWITCH (FRONT LH)

A -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

2. INSPECT DOOR COURTESY SWITCH (FRONT LH)

Inspection Front Door Courtesy Switch

OK:

Door courtesy light switch is normal.

NG -- REPLACE DOOR COURTESY SWITCH (FRONT LH)
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (DOOR COURTESY SWITCH (FRONT LH) - MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU)

(a) Disconnect the U1 ECU connector.





(b) Disconnect the V7 switch connector.

(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

4. INSPECT DOOR COURTESY SWITCH (FRONT RH)

Inspection Front Door Courtesy Switch

OK:

Door courtesy light switch is normal.

NG -- REPLACE DOOR COURTESY SWITCH (FRONT RH)
OK -- Continue to next step.

5. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (DOOR COURTESY SWITCH (FRONT RH) - MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU)

(a) Disconnect the K68 ECU connector.





(b) Disconnect the U4 switch connector.

(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

6. INSPECT DOOR COURTESY SWITCH (REAR LH OR REAR RH)

Inspection Rear Door Courtesy Switch

OK:

Door courtesy light switch is normal.

NG -- REPLACE DOOR COURTESY SWITCH (REAR LH OR REAR RH)
OK -- Continue to next step.

7. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (DOOR COURTESY SWITCH (REAR LH OR REAR RH) - COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK RH OR MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU)

(a) Check the wire harness between the cowl side junction block RH and door courtesy switch (rear LH).





(1) Disconnect the DA junction block connector.

(2) Disconnect the V13 switch connector.

(3) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance:





(b) Check the wire harness between the multiplex network body ECU and door courtesy switch (rear RH).





(1) Disconnect the U1 ECU connector.

(2) Disconnect the U11 switch connector.

(3) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
