B2233 - Front Left Center Sensor Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

The No. 3 ultrasonic sensor (front left center sensor) is installed on the front bumper.

The clearance warning ECU detects obstacles based on signals received from the front left center sensor. If the front left center sensor's circuit has an open, short or other malfunction, it will not function normally.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT NO. 3 ULTRASONIC SENSOR

(a) Remove the No. 3 ultrasonic sensor.





(b) Measure the resistance of the sensor.

Standard resistance:





NOTICE:
* Set the tester to the 100 kOhms range before performing the measurement.
* *1: Measurement values may vary depending on the tester used. If results seem inaccurate, reverse the polarity (+-) and measure again.

NG -- REPLACE NO. 3 ULTRASONIC SENSOR (FRONT LEFT CENTER SENSOR)
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (CLEARANCE WARNING ECU - NO. 3 ULTRASONIC SENSOR)

(a) Disconnect the A38 ECU connector.





(b) Disconnect the D4 sensor connector.

(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE CLEARANCE WARNING ECU
