2GR-FSE EMISSION CONTROL: AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR: REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

2. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL Removal

3. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH Removal

4. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH Removal

5. REMOVE V-BANK COVER Removal

6. DISCONNECT NO. 2 VENTILATION HOSE Removal

7. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE Removal

8. DISCONNECT NO. 2 RELAY BLOCK Removal

9. REMOVE BATTERY Removal

10. REMOVE POWER STEERING ECU ASSEMBLY Removal

11. REMOVE BATTERY TRAY





Remove the 2 bolts and battery tray.

12. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER (for 2WD)

13. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER (for 4WD)

14. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER (for 2WD) Removal

15. REMOVE REAR ENGINE UNDER COVER LH (for 2WD) Removal

16. REMOVE REAR ENGINE UNDER COVER RH (for 2WD) Removal

17. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the front exhaust pipe Removal.

18. REMOVE OIL DIPSTICK GUIDE (for 2WD) Removal

19. REMOVE OIL DIPSTICK GUIDE (for 4WD) Removal

20. REMOVE FRONT PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY (for 4WD)

21. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH Removal

22. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD SUB-ASSEMBLY RH





Disconnect the sensor connector.





Remove the 6 nuts, manifold and gasket.

23. REMOVE AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR (for Bank 1 Sensor 1)





Using SST, remove the sensor from the exhaust manifold RH.

24. REMOVE AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR (for Bank 2 Sensor 1)





Using SST, remove the sensor from the exhaust manifold LH.

SST : 09224-00010
