A/C Inverter Load System Malfunction - Air Conditioning System

AIR CONDITIONING: AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM: B1476/76: A/C Inverter Load System Malfunction
B1476/76 - A/C Inverter Load System Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

The compressor assembly stops compressor control and outputs DTC if the rotation load is too great or too small while controlling motor rotation in the compressor assembly.

Possible causes are refrigerant gas leakage, overcharged refrigerant gas, insufficient cooling because of a condenser fan circuit malfunction, or compressor lock.

NOTICE:
This circuit uses both CAN and multiplex communication. Before performing the inspection, check that the CAN and multiplex communication systems are functioning normally.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the power switch on (IG).

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Select the item below in the Active Test and then check that the fan operates.

Active Test / Air conditioner

OK:

Electrical fan operates smoothly.

NG -- GO TO COOLING FAN SYSTEM Testing and Inspection
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK REFRIGERANT VOLUME

(a) Check the sight glass on the liquid tube.

(b) Prepare the vehicle according to the table below.

(c) Check the sight glass according to the following table.

HINT
*: Bubbles in the sight glass with the vehicle's interior above 35°C (95°F) can be considered normal if cooling is sufficient.

NOTICE:
* If the amount of refrigerant is low, the compressor may stop in approximately 1 minute.
* If the compressor stops because of any trouble in the compressor assembly, inspection may not be possible. For such cases, the compressor assembly should be replaced.

OK:

Immediately after air conditioning is turned off, refrigerant foams and then becomes clear.

NG -- CHARGE REFRIGERANT

OK -- REPLACE COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY
