Hybrid Control System

L110 HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL: HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM: P0560-117: System Voltage
P0560-117 - System Voltage

DESCRIPTION

- Battery power is constantly supplied to the BATT terminal of the hybrid vehicle control ECU to allow DTCs and freeze frame data to be retained in memory even though the power switch is turned off. The back-up power is supplied even when the power switch is off.

MONITOR DESCRIPTION

If a period of time has elapsed with a low voltage at the BATT terminal of the hybrid vehicle control ECU, the hybrid vehicle control ECU will determine that a malfunction has occurred in the back-up power supply system, and set a DTC. The MIL will illuminate the next time the engine is started.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

CAUTION:
- Before inspecting the high-voltage system or disconnecting the low voltage connector of the inverter with converter assembly, take safety precautions such as wearing insulated gloves and removing the service plug grip to prevent electrical shocks. After removing the service plug grip, put it in your pocket to prevent other technicians from accidentally reconnecting it while you are working on the high-voltage system.
- After disconnecting the service plug grip, wait for at least 10 minutes before touching any of the high-voltage connectors or terminals. After waiting, check the voltage at the inspection point in the inverter with converter assembly. The voltage should be 0 V before beginning work.
HINT
Waiting for at least 10 minutes is required to discharge the high-voltage capacitor inside the inverter with converter assembly.

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (HV CONTROL ECU CONNECTOR)

(a) Check the connections of all hybrid vehicle control ECU connectors.

Result:

The connectors are connected securely and there are no contact problems.

NG -- CONNECT SECURELY
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HV CONTROL ECU - IGCT No. 1 FUSE)

(a) Turn the power switch off.

(b) Remove the integration relay from the engine room R/B No. 1.

(c) Disconnect connector A54 from the hybrid vehicle control ECU.

(d) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance (Check for open):

Standard resistance (Check for short):

NOTICE:
When taking measurements with a tester, do not apply excessive force to the tester probes to avoid damaging the fuse holder or terminals.

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (IGCT NO. 1 FUSE - BATTERY POSITIVE TERMINAL)

(a) Disconnect the positive and negative terminals from the auxiliary battery.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance (Check for open):

Standard resistance (Check for short):

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. RECONFIRM DTC OUTPUT (HV)

HINT
If DTC P0560-117 is output after this inspection, replace the hybrid vehicle control ECU. If the DTC is not output, check for intermittent problems L110 Hybrid Vehicle Control System because there may be a malfunction in the wire harness or connector.

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the power switch on (IG).

(c) Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.

(d) Recheck for DTCs.

Result:

DTC P0560-117 is output again.

NO -- CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS

YES -- REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU Components
