DOOR LOCK: WIRELESS DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM: No Answer-Back

DESCRIPTION

In some cases, wireless door lock control functions are normal but the turn signal lights and wireless door lock buzzer are not. Malfunctions may to present in the main body ECU RH, turn signal lights and wireless door lock buzzer signal outputs.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (DOOR LOCK POSITION SWITCH)

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the power switch ON (IG).

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / (desired system) / DATA LIST.

(e) Read the DATA LIST according to the display on the Techstream.

The Techstream should display as shown in the table according to door lock operation.

2. CHECK WIRELESS DOOR LOCK FUNCTION

(a) Check that the wireless door lock control functions operate with a transmitter Operation Check.

B -- PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (WIRELESS DOOR LOCK BUZZER)

3. CHECK TURN SIGNAL LIGHT

(a) Check that the turn signal lights flash continuously when the hazard warning switch is pressed.

OK:

Turn signal lights flash continuously.

NG -- Go to LIGHTING SYSTEM Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (TURN SIGNAL LIGHT)

(a) Select ACTIVE TEST, use the Techstream to generate a control command, and then check that the turn signal lights flash.

Main Body ECU RH:





OK:

Turn signal lights flash.

OK -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU RH
NG -- Continue to next step.

5. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (MAIN BODY ECU RH AND BODY GROUND - TURN SIGNAL FLASHER RELAY)





(a) Disconnect the K67 ECU connector.

(b) Disconnect the K25 relay connector.

(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU RH

6. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (WIRELESS DOOR LOCK BUZZER)

(a) Select the ACTIVE TEST, use the Techstream to generate a control command, and then check that the wireless door lock buzzer sound.

Main Body ECU RH:





OK:

Wireless door lock buzzer sounds and stops.

OK -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU RH
NG -- Continue to next step.

7. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (WIRELESS DOOR LOCK BUZZER - MAIN BODY ECU RH AND BODY GROUND)





(a) Disconnect the A18 buzzer connector.

(b) Disconnect the A39 ECU connector.

(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

8. CHECK WIRELESS DOOR LOCK BUZZER (OPERATION)

(a) Temporarily replace the wireless door lock buzzer with a new or normally functioning one.

(b) Check that the wireless door lock buzzer sounds by using the transmitter LOCK / UNLOCK switch.

OK:

Wireless door lock buzzer sounds.

NG -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU RH

OK -- END (WIRELESS DOOR LOCK BUZZER IS DEFECTIVE)
