Installation





BRAKE: REAR BRAKE: INSTALLATION

HINT
* Use the same procedures for the LH side and RH side.
* The procedures listed below are for the LH side.

CAUTION:
When the brake caliper is removed from the brake disc, do not start the hybrid system. If the hybrid system is started, the brake fluid pressure may increase.

1. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Install 2 new No. 1 caliper plates to the caliper support bracket.

(b) Install the disc brake caliper together with the caliper support bracket with the 2 bolts.





Torque : 65 Nm (663 kgf-cm, 48 ft-lbf)

2. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER SLIDE PIN

(a) Install the disc brake caliper with the cylinder slide pin.





Torque : 25 Nm (250 kgf-cm, 18 ft-lbf)

3. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE ANTI-SQUEAL SHIM KIT

(a) Apply disc brake grease to both sides of the 2 No. 1 anti-squeal shims.





(b) Install the 4 anti-squeal shims to each of the 2 brake pads.

NOTICE:
* When replacing worn pads, the anti-squeal shims must be replaced together with the pads.
* Install the anti-squeal shims in the correct positions and directions.

4. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE PAD KIT

(a) Install the 2 brake pads to the rear disc brake cylinder.

(b) Install the pad guide pin (upper) to the rear cylinder assembly.





(c) Insert the end of the anti-squeal spring to the brake pad (inner).





(d) Holding the anti-squeal spring, install the pad guide pin (lower) to the rear cylinder assembly.

(e) Engage the pin hold clip to the holes of both pad guide pins, and insert the pin hold clip to the brake pad as shown in the illustration.





NOTICE:
Make sure that the claw of the pin hold clip is engaged to the brake pad hole.

(f) Insert the end of the anti-squeal spring to the brake pad hole.





NOTICE:
* Make sure that the anti-squeal spring and pin hold clip are placed as shown in the illustration.
* Make sure that the pin hold clip cannot be removed easily from the pad guide pins.

5. CONNECT REAR BRAKE FLEXIBLE HOSE

(a) Connect the flexible hose with the union bolt and a new gasket.





Torque : 30 Nm (306 kgf-cm, 22 ft-lbf)

NOTICE:
Install the flexible hose lock securely in the lock hole in the disc brake caliper.

6. DISABLE BRAKE CONTROL Service and Repair

7. FILL RESERVOIR WITH BRAKE FLUID Service and Repair

8. BLEED AIR FROM REAR BRAKE SYSTEM Service and Repair

9. CHECK BRAKE FLUID LEVEL IN RESERVOIR Service and Repair

10. CHECK AND CLEAR DTC

(a) Check and clear the DTC Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

11. INSPECT FOR BRAKE FLUID LEAK

12. INSTALL REAR WHEEL

Torque : 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft-lbf)
