DESCRIPTION

The main body ECU RH receives information regarding the door lock position switch and power switch, and turns on each foot light. It also receives shift information and controls the illumination.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK OPERATION OF FOOT LIGHT AND ILLUMINATION LIGHT

(a) When a door is opened, check that the appropriate light illuminates.

E -- REPLACE INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT (REAR RH OR REAR RH NO. 2)

D -- REPLACE INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT (REAR LH OR REAR LH NO. 2)

C -- REPLACE FOOT LIGHT RH

B -- REPLACE FOOT LIGHT LH
A -- Continue to next step.

2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (STEP LIGHT)

(a) Select the ACTIVE TEST, use the Techstream to generate a control command, and then check that the step light illuminates.

OK:

Step light illuminates.

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
NG -- Continue to next step.

3. INSPECT FUSE (DOME, D/C CUT)

(a) Remove the DOME and D/C CUT fuses from the engine room No. 1 relay block.

(b) Measure the resistance of the fuses.

Standard resistance:

Below 1 Ohms

NG -- REPLACE FUSE

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

4. REPLACE FOOT LIGHT LH

(a) Temporarily replace the foot light LH with a new or normally functioning one.

(b) Check that the foot light illuminates.

OK:

Foot light illuminates.

OK -- END
NG -- Continue to next step.

5. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (FOOT LIGHT LH - BATTERY)

(a) Disconnect the K17 light connector.





(b) Measure the voltage of the wire harness side connector.

Standard voltage:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

6. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (FOOT LIGHT LH - ECU AND BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the K17 light connector.





(b) Disconnect the K68 ECU connector.

(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

7. REPLACE FOOT LIGHT RH

(a) Temporarily replace the foot light RH with a new or normally functioning one.

(b) Check that the foot light illuminates.

OK:

Foot light illuminates.

OK -- END
NG -- Continue to next step.

8. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (FOOT LIGHT RH - BATTERY)

(a) Disconnect the K49 light connector.





(b) Measure the voltage of the wire harness side connector.

Standard voltage:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

9. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (FOOT LIGHT RH - ECU AND BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the K49 light connector.





(b) Disconnect the K68 ECU connector.

(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

10. REPLACE INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT (REAR LH OR REAR LH NO. 2)

(a) Temporarily replace the interior illumination light with a new or normally functioning one.

(b) Check that the illumination light illuminates.

OK:

Illumination light illuminates.

OK -- END
NG -- Continue to next step.

11. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT (REAR LH OR REAR LH NO. 2) - BATTERY)

(a) for Rear LH

(1) Disconnect the b12 light connector.





(2) Measure the voltage of the wire harness side connector.

Standard voltage:





(b) for Rear LH No. 2

(1) Disconnect the b16 light connector.





(2) Measure the voltage of the wire harness side connector.

Standard voltage:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

12. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT (REAR LH OR REAR LH NO. 2) - MAIN BODY ECU RH AND BODY GROUND)

(a) for Rear LH

(1) Disconnect the b12 light connector.





(2) Disconnect the K68 ECU connector.

(3) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance:





(b) for Rear LH No. 2

(1) Disconnect the b16 light connector.





(2) Disconnect the K68 ECU connector.

(3) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

13. REPLACE INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT (REAR RH OR REAR RH NO. 2)

(a) Temporarily replace the interior illumination light with a new or normally functioning one.

(b) Check that the illumination light illuminates.

OK:

Illumination light illuminates.

OK -- END
NG -- Continue to next step.

14. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT (REAR RH OR REAR RH NO. 2) - BATTERY)

(a) for Rear RH

(1) Disconnect the a12 light connector.





(2) Measure the voltage of the wire harness side connector.

Standard voltage:





(b) for Rear RH No. 2

(1) Disconnect the a21 light connector.





(2) Measure the voltage of the wire harness side connector.

Standard voltage:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

15. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT (REAR RH OR REAR RH NO. 2) - MAIN BODY ECU RH AND BODY GROUND)

(a) for Rear RH

(1) Disconnect the a12 light connector.





(2) Disconnect the K68 ECU connector.

(3) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance:





(b) for Rear RH No. 2

(1) Disconnect the a21 light connector.





(2) Disconnect the K68 ECU connector.

(3) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance:
