Body - General Maintenance





MAINTENANCE: BODY: GENERAL MAINTENANCE

1. TIGHTEN BOLTS AND NUTS ON CHASSIS AND BODY

(a) Tighten the bolts and nuts on the chassis parts listed below, if necessary.

Front axle and suspension

Drivetrain

Rear axle and suspension

Brake system

Engine mounting

Other chassis parts

(b) Tighten the bolts and nuts on the body parts listed below, if necessary.

Seat belt system

Seats

Doors and hood

Body mountings

Fuel tank

Exhaust pipe system

Other body parts

2. INSPECT LIGHTS, HORNS, WIPERS AND WASHERS

3. BODY INSPECTION

(a) Check the body exterior for dents, scratches and rust.

(b) Check the underbody for rust and damage.

4. ROAD TEST

(a) Check the engine and chassis for abnormal noises.

(b) Check that the brakes work properly and do not drag.

(c) Set the parking brakes shoes and drums.

5. REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING FILTER

(a) Remove the air filter Disassembly.

(b) Visually inspect the surface of the filter.

(c) If the filter is contaminated with foreign matter, replace the filter.

6. INSPECT REFRIGERANT AMOUNT FOR AIR

(a) Check the sight glass on the liquid tube Refrigerant.

7. CORROSION INSPECTION

8. FINAL INSPECTION

(a) Check the operation of these vehicle body parts.

(1) Hood

Auxiliary catch operates properly.

Hood locks securely when closed.

(2) Front and rear doors

Door locks operate properly.

Doors close properly.

(3) Luggage compartment door

Door lock operates properly.

(4) Seats

Seat adjusts easily and locks securely in any position.

Front seatback locks securely in any position.

(5) Be sure that the vehicle is clean before returning it to the customer. In particular, pay attention to the following:

Steering wheel

Shift lever knob

All switch knobs

Seats
