Removal
L110 HYBRID TRANSMISSION / TRANSAXLE: HYBRID VEHICLE TRANSMISSION: REMOVAL
1. REMOVE ENGINE WITH TRANSMISSION
Removal.
2. DISCONNECT CONNECTOR
(a) Disconnect the shift lever position sensor connector, transmission wire connector, transmission revolution sensor connector, engine oil level sensor connector, motor revolution sensor connector, and generator revolution sensor connector.
3. DISCONNECT WIRE HARNESS
(a) Remove the bolt and ground cable.
(b) Remove the 3 bolts and wire harness. Separate the wire harness clamps from the hybrid vehicle transmission assembly.
4. REMOVE MOTOR CABLE PROTECTOR
(a) Disengage the claw and remove the clamp.
NOTICE:
Before removing the clamp, put a matchmarks on the cables.
(b) Remove the nut and clamp and remove the bracket.
(c) Disengage the 2 claws and separate the generator cable.
(d) Disengage the 6 claws and remove the motor cable protector.
NOTICE:
Before removing the protector, put matchmarks on the cables.
5. REMOVE GENERATOR CABLE PROTECTOR
(a) Disengage the 5 claws and remove the generator cable protector.
NOTICE:
Before removing the protector, put matchmarks on the cables.
6. REMOVE GENERATOR CABLE
CAUTION:
Be sure to wear insulated gloves before removing the generator cable.
NOTICE:
Cover the holes where the cable was connected with tape or equivalent (non-residue type) to prevent entry of foreign objects or water.
(a) Remove the 2 bolts and connector cover.
(b) Using a screwdriver, remove the 3 terminal caps.
(c) Using a 5 mm hexagon wrench, remove the 3 bolts.
(d) Remove the 2 bolts.
(e) Using a screwdriver, disconnect the 3 terminal cables and remove the generator cable from the hybrid vehicle transmission assembly.
HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
(f) Remove the 3 O-rings from the 3 terminal cables.
(g) Remove the 2 clamps from the generator cable.
NOTICE:
Before removing the clamp, put matchmarks on the cables.
7. REMOVE MOTOR CABLE
CAUTION:
Be sure to wear insulated gloves before removing the generator cable.
NOTICE:

(a) Remove the 2 bolts and connector cover.
(b) Using a screwdriver, remove the 3 terminal caps.
(c) Using a 5 mm hexagon wrench, remove the 3 bolts.
(d) Remove the 2 bolts.
(e) Using a screwdriver, disconnect the 3 terminal cables and remove the motor cable from the hybrid vehicle transmission assembly.
HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
(f) Remove the 3 O-rings from the 3 terminal cables.
(g) Remove the 4 clamps from the motor cable.
NOTICE:
Before removing the clamp, put matchmarks on the cables.
8. REMOVE REAR ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the 6 bolts and rear engine mounting insulator from the hybrid vehicle transmission assembly.
9. REMOVE HYBRID TRANSMISSION MASS DAMPER
(a) Remove the 4 bolts and hybrid transmission mass damper from the hybrid vehicle transmission assembly.
10. REMOVE WATER PIPE AND HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) RH Side:
(1) Remove the 3 bolts, 3 clips and the water pipe and hose sub-assembly.
(b) LH Side:
(1) Remove the 2 bolts, clip and the water pipe and hose sub-assembly.
11. REMOVE OIL COOLER TUBE
(a) Remove the 3 bolts, 4 gaskets and the oil cooler tube.
12. REMOVE TRANSMISSION CONTROL SHAFT LEVER
(a) Remove the nut and transmission control shaft lever.
13. REMOVE TRANSMISSION BREATHER HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Using a screwdriver, remove the transmission breather plug.
(b) Remove the O-ring.
(c) Disconnect the 4 clamps and clip.
(d) Remove the 2 bolts and transmission breather hose.
14. REMOVE STARTER HOLE INSULATOR
(a) Remove the 2 bolts and starter hole insulator.
15. REMOVE FLYWHEEL HOUSING SIDE COVER
(a) Remove the flywheel housing side cover.
16. REMOVE HYBRID VEHICLE TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the 9 bolts and hybrid vehicle transmission assembly.
NOTICE:
Do not use excessive force to pry out the transmission assembly when separating it from the engine to prevent the knock pins from being damaged.
17. REMOVE WIRE HARNESS CLAMP
(a) Remove the tape.
(b) Remove the 9 clamps and wire harness protector from the wire.
NOTICE:
Before removing the clamps and protector, put matchmarks on the wire.
