Installation

BRAKE: REAR BRAKE: INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Install 2 new No. 1 caliper plates to the caliper support bracket.

(b) Install the rear disc brake cylinder together with the caliper support bracket with the 2 bolts.

Torque : 65 Nm (663 kgf-cm, 48 ft-lbf)

2. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER SLIDE PIN

(a) Install the rear disc brake cylinder with the cylinder slide pin.

Torque : 25 Nm (250 kgf-cm, 18 ft-lbf)

3. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE ANTI-SQUEAL SHIM KIT

(a) Apply disc brake grease to both sides of the 2 anti-squeal shims.

(b) Install the 2 anti-squeal shims to each brake pad.

NOTICE:
* When replacing worn pads, the anti-squeal shims must be replaced together with the pads.
* Install the anti-squeal shims in the correct positions and directions.

4. INSTALL DISC BRAKE PAD KIT REAR

(a) Install the 2 brake pads to the rear disc brake cylinder.

(b) Install the pad guide pin (upper) to the rear disc brake cylinder.

(d) Holding the anti-squeal spring, install the pad guide pin (lower) to the rear disc brake cylinder.

(e) Engage the pin hold clip to the holes of both pad guide pins, and insert the pin hold clip to the brake pad as shown in the illustration.

NOTICE:
Make sure that the claw of the pin hold clip is engaged to the brake pad hole.

(f) Insert the end of the anti-squeal spring to the brake pad hole.

NOTICE:
* Make sure that the anti-squeal spring and pin hold clip are placed as shown in the illustration.
* Make sure that the pin hold clip cannot be removed easily from the pad guide pins.

5. CONNECT REAR BRAKE FLEXIBLE HOSE

(a) Connect the flexible hose with the union bolt and a new gasket.

Torque : 30 Nm (306 kgf-cm, 22 ft-lbf)

NOTICE:
Install the flexible hose lock securely in the lock hole in the rear disc brake cylinder.

6. DISABLE BRAKE CONTROL (for 1UR-FSE) Service and Repair

7. ADD RESERVOIR WITH BRAKE FLUID (for 2GR-FSE) Service and Repair

8. ADD RESERVOIR WITH BRAKE FLUID (for 1UR-FSE) Service and Repair

9. BLEED BRAKE LINE (for 2GR-FSE) Service and Repair

10. BLEED REAR BRAKE SYSTEM (for 1UR-FSE) Service and Repair

11. CHECK BRAKE FLUID LEVEL (for 1UR-FSE) Service and Repair

12. CHECK BRAKE FLUID LEVEL (for 2GR-FSE) Service and Repair

13. CHECK AND CLEAR DTC (for 1UR-FSE)

(a) Check and clear the DTC Electronically Controlled Brake System.

14. CHECK AND CLEAR DTC (for 2GR-FSE)

(a) Check and clear the DTC Vehicle Stability Control System.

15. INSPECT FOR BRAKE FLUID LEAK

16. INSTALL REAR WHEEL

Torque : 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft-lbf)
