1UR-FSE ENGINE MECHANICAL: CYLINDER BLOCK: REPLACEMENT

1. REPLACE STRAIGHT PIN

NOTICE:
It is not necessary to remove the straight pins unless they are being replaced.

(a) Remove the straight pins.

(b) Using a plastic-faced hammer, tap in new straight pins to the cylinder block.

2. REPLACE STUD BOLT

NOTICE:
If a stud bolt is deformed or the threads are damaged, replace it.

(a) Remove the stud bolts.

(b) Using E8 and E10 "TORX" socket wrenches, install the stud bolts.





Torque : 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf) for stud bolt A

Torque : 9.0 Nm (92 kgf-cm, 80 in-lbf) for stud bolt B

3. REPLACE TIGHT PLUG

NOTICE:
If water leaks from the tight plug or the plug is corroded, replace it.

(a) Remove the tight plug.

(b) Apply adhesive around the tight plug.





Adhesive:

Toyota Genuine Adhesive 1324, Three Bond 1324 or equivalent

(c) Using SST and a hammer, tap in the tight plug as shown in the illustration.
