Low Vibration and Noise Body
Low Vibration and Low Noise Body
1. General
Effective application of noise suppressant materials and body structure design reduces engine, wind, and road.
2. Sound Absorbing Material
^ Noise absorption and insulating materials have been optimally placed in consideration of the distribution of noise entering from outside the vehicle, and with the vehicle interior acoustic characteristics to achieve both quietness and weight savings.
^ The sun visor has been designed with noise absorption characteristics. The visor outer shell has vent holes to absorb noise entering the cabin from the windshield and cowl.
^ The front windshield has an inner film with high noise dampening characteristics, leading to reduced cabin noise reverberation and noise entering from outside the vehicle.
^ A highly rigid foam type asphalt sheet with low specific gravity is adopted in some areas.
3. Measures to Reduce Wind Noise
The following features are adopted, leading to reduced wind noise.
^ Foam materials have been optimally placed on or in the side members and pillars.
^ The window molding with hidden frame is used to minimize the step between the window and window molding. (1)
^ The windshield outside molding is used to minimize the step between the windshield and roof panel. (2)
^ Hood side seal rubbers are adopted.
^ The cross section of the hood seal rubber has been optimized.
