Front Door: Adjustments
FRONT DOOR PANEL
CAUTION: Before adjusting the door positions of vehicles equipped with side and curtain shield airbags, be sure to disconnect the battery. After adjustment, check that the SRS warning light is operating normally and there are no SRS DTCs output.
HINT:
- Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
- The procedures listed below is for the LH side.
- Centering bolts are used to mount the door hinge to the vehicle body and door. The door cannot be adjusted with the centering bolts on. Substitute the centering bolts with standard bolts when making adjustment.
- Specified torque for standard bolts is shown in the standard bolt chart.
a. Using a clip remover, disengage the 4 clips and remove the front fender side panel protector.
b. Using SST, loosen the body hinge bolts and adjust the door position.

c. Tighten the body hinge bolts after the adjustment.
Torque: 33 N.m (331 kgf.cm, 24 ft.lbf)
d. Loosen the door hinge bolts and adjust the door position.
e. Tighten the door hinge bolts after the adjustment.
Torque: 33 N.m (331 kgf.cm, 24 ft.lbf)
f. Using a screwdriver wrapped with protective tape, disengage the 4 claws and remove the front door lock striker cover.
g. Using a T40 "TORX" socket wrench, adjust the striker position by slightly loosening the striker mounting screws and hitting the striker with a plastic hammer.
h. Using a T40 "TORX" socket wrench, tighten the striker mounting screws after the adjustment.
Torque: 23 N.m (235 kgf.cm, 17 ft.lbf)
