DESCRIPTION
When the engine switch is on (IG), the center airbag sensor assembly transmits front seat inner belt status signals to the combination meter assembly through CAN and BEAN. If the driver side seat belt is not fastened, the combination meter assembly blinks the driver side seat belt warning light. If the seat belt is fastened, the warning light goes off.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTICE:
The seat belt warning system use the CAN and multiplex communication systems. First, confirm that there are no malfunction in the CAN and multiplex communication system. Refer to the How to Proceed with Troubleshooting procedure How To Proceed With Troubleshooting.
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK DTC (AIRBAG SYSTEM)
(a) Clear the DTC Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
(b) Recheck for DTCs.
Result:
B -- GO TO AIRBAG SYSTEM Airbag System
A -- Continue to next step.
2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).
(c) Turn the Techstream on.
(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test.
(e) Perform the Active Test according to the display on the Techstream.
Combination Meter (Combination Meter Assembly)
OK:
The driver side seat belt warning light on the combination meter assembly operates normally.
NG -- REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY Removal
OK -- USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK How To Proceed With Troubleshooting
