C1270
BRAKE CONTROL: VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM: C1203, C1270: ECM Communication Circuit Malfunction
DESCRIPTION
The circuit is used to send TRAC and VSC control information from the skid control ECU to the ECM, and engine control information from the ECM to the skid control ECU.
If the skid control ECU is replaced or if the memory is cleared, system information such as the destination or vehicle type will be unconfirmed. After switching to Test Mode, the skid control ECU performs initialization when starting communication with the vehicle, and stores the system information in 2 or 3 seconds.
DTC C1270 will be cleared when the initialization is completed normally or when Test Mode ends. DTC C1270 is output only in Test Mode.
INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTICE:
When replacing the brake actuator assembly, perform zero point calibration and store system information Calibration.
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK PART NUMBER (ECM)
(a) Check that the part number of the installed ECM is correct.
OK:
ECM installed in the vehicle has the correct part number.
Result:
C -- REPLACE ECM (for 4GR-FSE) Removal
B -- REPLACE ECM (for 2GR-FSE) Removal
A -- Continue to next step.
2. CLEAR AND STORE SYSTEM INFORMATION
(a) Clear the system information Calibration.
(b) Store the system information Calibration.
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
3. RECONFIRM DTC
(a) Clear the DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
(b) Check if the same DTC is recorded Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
Result:
B -- REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY Removal
A -- CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS Electronic Circuit Inspection Procedure
