Applicability
Introduction
Some 4WD equipped IS 350 vehicles may exhibit a whine noise around 60 MPH on deceleration or when cruising. Production changes have been made to eliminate this noise. Follow the procedure in the bulletin to address this condition.

APPLICABLE WARRANTY
^ This repair is covered under the Lexus Powertrain Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 72 months or 70,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.
^ Warranty application is limited to occurrence of the specified condition described in this bulletin.
Repair Procedure
1. Confirm if there is a whine noise around 60 MPH on deceleration or when cruising. Is the noise present around 60 MPH?
Yes - Continue to step 2.
No - This Service Bulletin does not apply continue diagnosis per the Repair Manual.
2. Remove the rear propeller shaft and confirm if washers are present between the center support bearing and the body of the vehicle.
Are the center support bearing washers installed?
Yes - This TSIB does not apply continue diagnosis per the Repair Manual.
No - Continue to step 3.
3. Install rear propeller shaft center support bearing washers.

4. Test drive the vehicle and confirm that the noise is no longer present.
NOTE
If the whine noise continues or there seems to be a driveline vibration after washer installation, reference the rear propeller shaft installation repair manual document listed above.
