AXLE AND DIFFERENTIAL: DIFFERENTIAL OIL: REPLACEMENT
1. INSPECT DIFFERENTIAL OIL
(a) Using a hexagon wrench, remove the rear differential filler plug and gasket.

(b) Check that the oil level is between 0 and 5 mm (0 and 0.197 in.) from the bottom lip of the rear differential filler plug opening.
NOTICE:
* An excessively large or small amount of differential oil may cause damage.
* After replacing oil, drive the vehicle and check the oil level.
If necessary, fill the rear differential carrier assembly with differential synthetic gear oil.
(c) Inspect for oil leaks if the oil level is low.
(d) Using a hexagon wrench, install the rear differential filler plug and a new gasket.

Torque : 49 Nm (500 kgf-cm, 36 ft-lbf)
2. DRAIN DIFFERENTIAL OIL
(a) Using a hexagon wrench, remove the rear differential filler plug and gasket.

(b) Using a hexagon wrench, remove the rear differential drain plug and gasket to drain the differential oil.

(c) Using a hexagon wrench, install the rear differential drain plug with a new gasket.
Torque : 49 Nm (500 kgf-cm, 36 ft-lbf)
3. ADD DIFFERENTIAL OIL
(a) Add differential oil until the oil level is between 0 and 5 mm (0 and 0.197 in.) from the bottom lip of the rear differential filler plug opening.
Differential Oil:
(b) Using a hexagon wrench, install the rear differential filler plug with a new gasket.

NOTICE:
* When adding differential oil, make sure that the vehicle is level.
* An excessively large or small amount of differential oil may cause damage.
* After adding differential oil, drive the vehicle and recheck the oil level.
