WINDOW / GLASS: POWER WINDOW CONTROL SYSTEM: INITIALIZATION

1. RESET (INITIALIZE) POWER WINDOW CONTROL SYSTEM

(a) When a switch* is removed:

*: Power Window Regulator Master Switch Assembly or Power Window Regulator Switch Assembly

NOTICE:
* Do not perform any other procedures during initialization.
* Be sure to initialize each power window switch one at a time.
* In order to prevent excess current, do not reset 2 or more power window regulator motors simultaneously.
* Make sure to turn the engine switch off before disconnecting and connecting any connectors. If the engine switch is on (IG), the window positions may become misaligned.
If the window positions are misaligned:
(1) Turn the engine switch on (IG).
(2) Close all doors.
(3) Quarter windows fully closed.
(4) Fully close the window while holding the switch at the auto up or manual up* position.
*: w/o Front Passenger Side Auto Up Function
(5) Continue holding the switch at the auto up or manual up* position for 10 seconds after the window is fully closed.
*: w/o Front Passenger Side Auto Up Function

(1) Turn the engine switch on (IG).

(2) Fully close the window while holding the switch at the auto up position.

(3) Hold the switch at the auto up position for 1 second after the window is fully closed.

(4) Check that the LED illumination on each door switch changes from blinking to steady illumination.

(b) Initialization procedures for the power window regulator motor assembly (for rear sides) (position sensor):

HINT
* It is necessary to initialize the power window regulator motor assembly (for rear sides) (position sensor) if any of the following has occurred:
(1) A motor is operated while removed from the vehicle
(2) A door window stop has been adjusted while installed on the vehicle
(3) A motor is operated or adjusted improperly
* There are 2 separate initialization procedures for the power window regulator motor assembly (for rear sides)

(1) When initializing the power window regulator motor assembly (for rear sides) (not installed on vehicle):

NOTICE:
* Do not apply battery voltage to any terminals except terminals 1 and 2.
* After initializing the power window regulator motor assembly (for rear sides) (position sensor), do not operate the motor until the regulator motor is installed.

Connect a positive battery lead to terminal 1 and connect a negative battery lead to terminal 2 to operate the motor for 6 to 10 rotations or for 4 seconds

(2) When initializing a power window regulator motor assembly (for rear side) (installed on vehicle):

NOTICE:
Be careful not to damage the water seal when inserting the screwdriver.

Connect the connector.

Turn the engine switch on (IG).

Fully close the door glass by using multiplex network master switch assembly.

Using a round bar (dia 2 mm (0.079 in.)), keep the reset switch pressed.





Fully open the door glass by using multiplex network master switch assembly with the reset switch pressed.

Take the round bar (dia 2 mm (0.079 in.)) away from the reset switch.

Fully close the door glass by using multiplex network master switch assembly.
