BRAKE (REAR): REAR BRAKE: DISASSEMBLY
NOTICE:
Do not remove the disc brake piston and piston seal from the rear disc brake cylinder assembly.
HINT
* Use the same procedure for the LH side and RH side.
* The following procedure is for the LH side.
1. REMOVE CYLINDER BOOT
(a) Place one side of the disc brake pad and wooden plate between the disc brake pistons of the rear disc brake cylinder assembly.
(b) Using compressed air, gradually push the disc brake piston out slightly from the rear disc brake cylinder assembly.
NOTICE:
Do not push the disc brake piston out more than 12 mm (0.472 in.) from the rear disc brake cylinder assembly.
(c) Using a screwdriver, separate the cylinder boot from the rear disc brake cylinder assembly.
NOTICE:
Be careful not to damage the rear disc brake cylinder assembly.
HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
(d) Remove the cylinder boot from the disc brake piston.
HINT
Use the same procedure to remove the remaining cylinder boot.
2. REMOVE REAR DISC BRAKE BLEEDER PLUG
(a) Remove the rear disc brake bleeder plug cap and rear disc brake bleeder plug.
3. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SHOE ADJUSTING HOLE PLUG
