Fuel Injector (for Port Injection)

2UR-GSE FUEL: FUEL INJECTOR (for Port Injection): INSPECTION

1. INSPECT FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Measure the resistance of the fuel injector assembly.

(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

If the resistance is not as specified, replace the fuel injector assembly.

(b) Inspect the injection volume.

CAUTION:
This test involves high-pressure fuel and electricity. Take all precautions regarding safe handling of both fuel and electricity. Perform this test in a safe area, and avoid any sparks or flames. Do not smoke.

(1) Remove the fuel pipe clamp.

(2) Disconnect the fuel tube.

(3) Connect SST to the fuel pipe (the vehicle side).

SST : 09268-31012

09268-41500

90467-13001

95336-08070

(4) Install the O-ring to the fuel fuel injector assembly.

(5) Install SST and tube to the fuel fuel injector assembly.

SST : 09268-31012

09268-41160

09268-41300

90467-13001

(6) Put the fuel injector assembly into a graduated cylinder.

CAUTION:
Install a strong rubber tube onto the fuel injector assembly to prevent gasoline from splashing.

(7) Operate the fuel pump (turn the engine switch on (IG)).

(8) Connect SST (wire) to the fuel injector assembly and the battery for 15 seconds, and measure the injection volume with the graduated cylinder. Test each fuel injector assembly 2 or 3 times.

SST : 09842-30090

Standard injection volume:

72.3 to 75.2 cm3 (4.4 to 4.6 cu in.) per 15 seconds

Difference between each fuel injector assembly: 18 cm3 (1.1 cu in.) or less

If the injection volume is not as specified, replace the fuel injector assembly.

(c) Check for leaks.

(1) In the condition above, disconnect the tester probes of SST (wire) from the battery and check for fuel leakage from the fuel injector assembly.

Standard fuel drop:

1 drop or less in 24 minutes
