C2179/79 - Tire Pressure Monitor ECU Communication Stop

DESCRIPTION

The tire pressure warning ECU exchanges speed signals and warning light signals with the combination meter via CAN communication.





INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

(a) Turn the engine switch off.

(b) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(c) Turn the engine switch on (IG) and the Techstream on.

(d) Select "CAN Bus Check" from the System Selection Menu screen and follow the prompts on the screen to inspect the CAN Bus.

NG -- GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM Diagnosis System
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK DTC (CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM)

(a) Check for DTC Diagnosis System.

3. CLEAR DTC

(a) Clear the DTC Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

4. RECHECK DTC

(a) Turn the engine switch off.

(b) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(c) Turn the engine switch on (IG) and the Techstream on.

(d) After turning the engine switch on (IG), wait for 10 seconds or more and then check if DTC C2179/79 is output.
