EXTERIOR: OUTSIDE MOULDING: REMOVAL
REMOVAL
HINT:
- Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
- The procedures listed below are for the LH side.
- When removing the moulding, heat the vehicle body and moulding using a heat light.
Heating temperature
NOTE:
Do not heat the vehicle body and moulding excessively.
1. REMOVE OUTSIDE MOULDING
(a) Using a screwdriver, remove the front door hole plug.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
(b) Remove the nut.
(c) Using a screwdriver, remove the rear door hole plug.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
(d) Remove the nut.
(e) Put protective tape around the moulding.
(f) Insert a piano wire between the vehicle body and moulding.
(g) Tie objects that can serve as handles (for example, wooden blocks) to both wire ends.
(h) Pull the piano wire and scrape off the double-sided tape that holds the moulding to the vehicle body.
(i) Detach the 12 clips and remove the moulding.
NOTICE:
- If reusing the moulding, take care not to damage the moulding.
- Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
