INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POSITION CONTROL ECU - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)
(a) for LH Side:
Disconnect the f43 ECU connector.
(b) for RH Side:
Disconnect the f39 ECU connector.
(c) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage:
for LH Side
for RH Side
(d) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
for LH Side
for RH Side
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK POSITION CONTROL ECU (SWITCH CIRCUIT)
(a) Remove the position control ECU with its connectors still connected
(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage:
for LH Side
for RH Side
NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POSITION CONTROL ECU - SEAT VIBRATOR SWITCH)
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. INSPECT SEPARATE TYPE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY (LUMBAR MOTOR)
(a) Check the operation of the lumbar motor.
(1) Apply battery voltage to the lumbar motor.
(2) Check that the lumbar support adjuster moves smoothly.
OK:
for LH Side
for RH Side
Result
C -- REPLACE SEPARATE TYPE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY Removal
B -- REPLACE SEPARATE TYPE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY Removal
A -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POSITION CONTROL ECU - LUMBAR MOTOR)
(a) for LH Side:
(1) Disconnect the f43 ECU connector.
(2) Disconnect the f44 motor connector.
(b) for RH Side:
(1) Disconnect the f39 ECU connector.
(2) Disconnect the f41 motor connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
for LH Side
for RH Side
Result
C -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
B -- REPLACE POSITION CONTROL ECU Disassembly
A -- REPLACE POSITION CONTROL ECU Disassembly
5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POSITION CONTROL ECU - SEAT VIBRATOR SWITCH)
(a) for LH Side:
Disconnect the f43 ECU connector.
(b) for RH Side:
Disconnect the f39 ECU connector.
(c) Disconnect the z71 switch connector.
(d) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
for LH Side
for RH Side
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
6. CHECK SEAT VIBRATOR SWITCH (OPERATION)
(a) Replace the seat vibrator switch with a new or normally operating one. Perform an operation inspection.
OK:
Lumbar motor operates normally.
Result
C -- REPLACE POSITION CONTROL ECU Disassembly
B -- REPLACE POSITION CONTROL ECU Disassembly
A -- END (SEAT VIBRATOR SWITCH IS DEFECTIVE)
