Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System
CRUISE CONTROL: DYNAMIC RADAR CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM: C1A11, C1A14: Front Radar Sensor Incorrect Axial Gap
C1A14 - Front Radar Sensor Beam Axis Not Adjusted
DESCRIPTION
The driving support ECU assembly uses the millimeter wave radar sensor to detect obstacles in front of the vehicle.
When the vehicle is determined to be driving in a straight line or on a slow curve based on signals from the yaw rate sensor, the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly performs self diagnosis to check if the sensor beam axis is deviated from the vehicle movement direction. When the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly beam axis is not adjusted correctly, the driving support ECU assembly detects this, and DTC C1A11 is stored.
After installing a new millimeter wave radar sensor assembly, if the sensor beam axis adjustment is not performed, DTC C1A14 is stored.
INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. ADJUST FRONT MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR
(a) Adjust the front millimeter wave radar sensor Adjustments.
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK WHETHER DTC OUTPUT RECURS (C1A11 OR C1A14)
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the power switch on (IG).
(c) Clear the DTCs Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System.
(d) Perform the following to make sure that the DTC detection conditions are met.
HINT
If the detection conditions are not met, the malfunction cannot be detected.
(1) Drive the vehicle at a speed of 50 km/h (30 mph) and 170 km/h (105 mph).
(2) Turn the cruise control switch (ON-OFF button) on.
(3) Push the -/SET switch to activate the cruise control.
(e) Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Radar Cruise / Trouble Codes.
(f) Read the DTCs.
Result:
B -- REPLACE DRIVING SUPPORT ECU ASSEMBLY Removal
A -- END
