DESCRIPTION

The main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) controls the door mirror foot lights.

1. CHECK VEHICLE CONDITION

(a) Check the vehicle condition.

B -- PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM
A -- Continue to next step.

2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the power switch on (IG).

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Active Test.

(e) Check that the door mirror foot lights operate.

OK:

Door mirror foot lights illuminate.

NG -- CHECK OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE Exterior Lighting System

3. CHECK OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the outer rear view mirror assembly that does not illuminate Removal.





(b) Connect a positive (+) lead from the auxiliary battery to terminal 2 and a negative (-) lead to terminal 12.

(c) Check that the outer mirror foot light comes on.

4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU - OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY)

(a) Disconnect the H17 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.

(b) Disconnect the K6 or J6 outer rear view mirror assembly connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) Removal

5. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM

(a) Connect the Techstream on the DLC3.

(b) Turn the power switch on (IG).

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Mirror L or Mirror R / Active Test.

(e) Check that the door mirror foot lights operate.

6. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Remove the outer rear view mirror assembly LH Removal.





(b) Connect a positive (+) lead from the auxiliary battery to terminal 2 and a negative (-) lead to terminal 12.

(c) Check that the outer mirror foot light comes on.

OK:

Door mirror foot light comes on.

7. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY RH

(a) Remove the outer rear view mirror assembly RH Removal.





(b) Connect a positive (+) lead from the auxiliary battery to terminal 2 and a negative (-) lead to terminal 12.

(c) Check that the outer mirror foot light comes on.

OK:

Door mirror foot light comes on.
