B15C3 - Speaker Output Short
DESCRIPTION
This DTC is stored when a malfunction occurs in the speakers.

WIRING DIAGRAM
INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK DTC
(a) Disconnect the F43 and F24 stereo component amplifier assembly connectors.
(b) Clear the DTCs and recheck for DTCs.
(c) Check if DTC B15C3 is output.
OK:
DTC B15C3 is not output.
NG -- REPLACE STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK OPERATION
(a) Reconnect the F24 stereo component amplifier assembly connector.
(b) Check if DTC B15C3 is output.
OK:
DTC B15C3 is not output.
NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
(a) Disconnect the F43 stereo component amplifier assembly connector, the F38 DCM (telematics transceiver) connector*1 and the I5, H5, G5, G3, K4, J4, K6, J6 speaker connectors.
*1: w/ Manual (SOS) Switch
(b) Measure the resistance between the stereo component amplifier assembly and body ground to check for a short circuit in the wire harness.
Standard Resistance:
(c) Measure the resistance between each of the front No. 1 speakers and body ground to check for a short circuit in the wire harness.
Standard Resistance:
(d) Measure the resistance between each of the rear speakers and body ground to check for a short circuit in the wire harness.
Standard Resistance:
(e) w/ Manual (SOS) Switch
Measure the resistance between the front No. 2 speaker RH and body ground to check for a short circuit in the wire harness.
Standard Resistance:
(f) Measure the resistance between each of the front No. 1 speakers and the front No. 2 speakers to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.
Standard Resistance:
(g) Measure the resistance between the front No. 2 speaker LH and the stereo component amplifier assembly to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.
Standard Resistance:
(h) w/o Manual (SOS) Switch
Measure the resistance between the front No. 2 speaker RH and the stereo component amplifier assembly to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.
Standard Resistance:
(i) w/ Manual (SOS) Switch
Measure the resistance between the DCM (telematics transceiver) and the stereo component amplifier assembly to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.
Standard Resistance:
(j) w/ Manual (SOS) Switch
Measure the resistance between the front No. 2 speaker RH and the DCM (telematics transceiver) to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.
Standard Resistance:
(k) Measure the resistance between each of the rear No. 2 speakers and the stereo component amplifier assembly to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.
Standard Resistance:
(l) Measure the resistance between each of the rear No. 2 speakers and the rear speakers to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. INSPECT FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER
(a) Resistance check
(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:

NG -- REPLACE FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.
5. INSPECT FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER
(a) Resistance check
(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:

NG -- REPLACE FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.
6. INSPECT REAR SPEAKER
(a) Resistance check
(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:

NG -- REPLACE REAR SPEAKER Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.
7. INSPECT REAR NO. 2 SPEAKER
(a) Resistance check
(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:

(b) Proceed to the next step based on the inspection result.
Result:
B -- REPLACE STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY Removal
C -- REPLACE REAR NO. 2 SPEAKER Removal

8. INSPECT DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER)
(a) Resistance check
(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:

NG -- REPLACE DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) Removal
OK -- REPLACE STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY Removal
9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
(a) Disconnect the F24 stereo component amplifier assembly connector and the L37, G2 speaker connectors.
(b) Measure the resistance between the stereo component amplifier assembly and body ground to check for a short circuit in the wire harness.
Standard Resistance:
(c) Measure the resistance between the rear stereo component speaker and the stereo component amplifier assembly to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.
Standard Resistance:
(d) Measure the resistance between the front No. 3 speaker and the stereo component amplifier assembly to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
10. INSPECT FRONT NO. 3 SPEAKER
(a) Resistance check
(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:

11. INSPECT REAR STEREO COMPONENT SPEAKER
(a) Resistance check
