DESCRIPTION
When the windshield deicer switch is operated, the operation signal is transmitted to the air conditioning amplifier assembly via CAN and AVC-LAN communication lines*1, or directly*2. When the air conditioning amplifier assembly receives the signal, it turns on the integration relay to operate the windshield deicer.

The windshield deicer system uses the CAN communication and AVC-LAN communication. First, confirm that there is no malfunction in the communication lines. Refer to the How to Proceed with Troubleshooting procedure How To Proceed With Troubleshooting.
PROCEDURE
1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (FRONT DEICER RELAY)
(a) Turn the power switch off.
(b) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(c) Turn the power switch on (IG).
(d) Turn the Techstream on.
(e) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Air Conditioner / Active Test.
(f) Using the Techstream, perform Active Test.

C -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INTEGRATION RELAY - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)

2. INSPECT FRONT WIPER DEICER SWITCH
(a) Remove the front wiper deicer switch Removal.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

(c) Apply battery voltage and check that the indicator illuminates.

NG -- REPLACE FRONT WIPER DEICER SWITCH Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT WIPER DEICER SWITCH - BATTERY)
(a) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER - FRONT WIPER DEICER SWITCH)
(a) Disconnect the F47 air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY Removal
5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INTEGRATION RELAY - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)
(a) Disconnect the 1G and 1H integration relay connectors.
(b) Measure the voltage and resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage:
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER - INTEGRATION RELAY)
(a) Disconnect the F47 air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
7. CHECK INTEGRATION RELAY
(a) Reconnect the 1G and 1H integration relay connectors.
(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage:
NG -- REPLACE INTEGRATION RELAY Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.
8. CHECK AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY
(a) Reconnect the F47 air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.
(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INTEGRATION RELAY - WINDSHIELD DEICER WIRE)
(a) Disconnect the 1H integration relay connector.
(b) Disconnect the A56 windshield deicer wire (windshield glass) connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
10. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (WINDSHIELD DEICER WIRE - BODY GROUND)
(a) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
11. CHECK INTEGRATION RELAY
(a) Reconnect the 1H integration relay connector.
(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage:
NG -- REPLACE INTEGRATION RELAY
OK -- REPLACE WINDSHIELD DEICER WIRE (WINDSHIELD GLASS) Removal
12. REPLACE INTEGRATION RELAY
(a) Replace the integration relay Removal.

13. CHECK WINDSHIELD DEICER SYSTEM
(a) Check the windshield deicer system.
OK:
The windshield deicer system operates normally.
