DESCRIPTION

While the main body ECU RH (cowl side junction block RH) has received the ON signal from the fuel lid opener switch, the main body ECU RH (cowl side junction block RH) activates the fuel lid opener motor assembly.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Body / Date list.

(e) Read the Date List according to the display on the Techstream.

NG -- INSPECT LUGGAGE DOOR OPENING SWITCH ASSEMBLY (FUEL LID OPENER SWITCH)
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. INSPECT FUEL OPN RELAY

(a) Remove the FUEL OPN relay from the luggage room junction block.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table bellow.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPLACE FUEL OPN RELAY
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FUEL OPN RELAY - BATTERY)

(a) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

OK -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FUEL OPN RELAY - MAIN BODY ECU RH (COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK))

(a) Disconnect the J75 connector from the main body ECU (cowl side junction block RH).





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

OK -- Continue to next step.

5. INSPECT FUEL LID OPENER MOTOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the fuel lid opener motor assembly Removal.





(b) Apply battery voltage to the motor terminals and check that the motor operates and the shaft moves in the open direction.

OK:





(c) Measure the shaft stroke.

Standard:

9.9 mm (0.390 in.) or more

6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FUEL LID OPENER RELAY - FUEL LID OPENER MOTOR ASSEMBLY)

(a) Disconnect the Q39 connector from the fuel opener motor assembly.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FUEL LID OPENER MOTOR ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND)

(a) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

OK -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU RH (COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK RH)

8. INSPECT LUGGAGE DOOR OPENING SWITCH ASSEMBLY (FUEL LID OPENER SWITCH)

(a) Remove the luggage door opening switch assembly (fuel lid opener switch) Removal.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

OK -- Continue to next step.

9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FUEL LID OPENER SWITCH - MAIN BODY ECU RH AND BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the RA connector from the main body ECU (cowl side junction block RH).





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:
