SEAT: FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY: DISASSEMBLY

1. PRECAUTION

NOTICE:
* When replacing the occupant classification ECU, perform registration.
* When replacing the position control ECU and switch assembly, register the end-point positions of the reclining motor, lifter motor and slide motor.
* When replacing the front seat adjuster assembly, clear seat positions stored in the position control ECU and switch assembly, and then register the end-point positions of the reclining motor, lifter motor and slide motor.
* During disassembly and reassembly, do not move the front seat assembly. If it is necessary to move the front seat assembly, do not apply voltage directly to any of the power seat motors.
* If voltage is directly applied to a power seat motor (not through the position control ECU), inconsistencies with previously stored positions may result in abnormal operation.

2. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY Removal

3. REMOVE SLIDE AND VERTICAL POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB

(a) Using a moulding remover, disengage the 4 claws and remove the slide and vertical power seat switch knob.

4. REMOVE RECLINING POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB

(a) Using a moulding remover, disengage the 4 claws and remove the reclining power seat switch knob.

5. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER RELEASE HANDLE

(a) Using a screwdriver wrapped with protective tape, disengage the claw and remove the reclining adjuster release handle.

6. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD ASSEMBLY

(a) Disengage the 2 hooks.

(b) w/o Memory:

(1) Remove the 6 screws.

(d) Disengage the guide and remove the front seat cushion shield assembly.

(e) Disconnect the connector from the lumbar switch.

7. REMOVE NO. 1 FRONT SEAT CUSHION INNER SHIELD

(a) Remove the 2 screws and remove the No. 1 front seat cushion inner shield from the front seat cushion shield.

8. REMOVE LUMBAR SWITCH

(a) Remove the 2 screws and lumbar switch.

9. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION INNER SHIELD

(a) Remove the screw.

(b) Disengage the guide and claw as shown in the illustration.

(c) Disengage the guide and remove the front seat cushion inner shield as shown in the illustration.

10. REMOVE FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH (w/o Memory)

(a) Disconnect the connector.

(b) Remove the 3 screws and the front power seat switch.

11. REMOVE POSITION CONTROL ECU AND SWITCH ASSEMBLY (w/ Memory)

NOTICE:
When replacing the position control ECU and switch assembly, register the end-point positions of the reclining motor, lifter motor and slide motor.

(a) Disconnect the 2 connectors.

(b) Remove the 3 screws and the position control ECU and switch assembly.

12. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER WITH PAD

(a) Disengage the 2 clamps (1) and (2), disconnect the 2 wire harnesses.

(b) w/ Seat Heater System:

(1) Disconnect the connector.

(2) Disengage the clamp (3) and disconnect the seat heater wire harness.

(c) Disconnect each connector.

(d) Disengage the 4 hooks.

(e) Disengage the 2 hooks and disconnect the occupant detection sensor connector.

(f) w/ Seat Heater System:

(1) Disconnect the connector.

(g) Disengage each hook and remove the separate type front seat cushion cover with pad as shown in the illustration.

13. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER

(a) Remove the 2 hog rings.

(b) Remove the 14 hog rings and the separate type front seat cushion cover from the separate type front seat cushion pad.

14. REMOVE FRONT SHOULDER BELT HANGER CAP

(a) Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, push the claw [A] of the front shoulder belt hanger cap to disengage it as shown in the illustration.

(b) Disengage the 5 claws [B] and [C], remove the front shoulder belt hanger cap.

(c) w/ Memory:

(1) Disconnect the connector and remove the front shoulder belt hanger cap.

15. REMOVE POWER SEAT SHOULDER SWITCH ASSEMBLY (w/ Memory)

(a) Disengage the 4 claws and remove the power seat shoulder switch assembly.

16. REMOVE SHOULDER BELT ANCHOR COVER

(a) Remove the screw.

(b) Disengage the 2 claws and remove the shoulder belt anchor cover.

17. REMOVE RECLINING REMOTE CONTROL LEVER KNOB

(a) Using a moulding remover, disengage the claw and remove the reclining remote control lever knob as shown in the illustration.

18. REMOVE RECLINING REMOTE CONTROL BEZEL

(a) Using a moulding remover, disengage the 6 claws and remove the reclining remote control bezel.

19. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 2 screws.

(b) Disengage the 2 hooks and remove the front seatback board sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

20. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK BOARD COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Disengage the 2 hooks and remove the front seatback board cover sub-assembly.

21. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST SUPPORT LH

(a) Disengage the 2 claws and remove the front seat headrest support LH.

22. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST SUPPORT RH

(a) Disengage the 2 claws and remove the front seat headrest support RH.

23. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD

(a) Remove the nut and the seatback cover bracket.

(b) Remove the 5 hog rings.

(c) Disengage the 7 hooks and remove the separate type front seatback cover with pad.

24. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK COVER

(a) Remove the 8 hog rings and the separate type front seatback cover from the separate type front seatback pad.

25. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK COVER

(a) Remove the 3 pieces of double-sided tape and the front seatback cover.

26. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER LH

(a) Remove the screw.

(b) Disengage the guide and remove the reclining adjuster inside cover LH.

27. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER RH

(a) Remove the screw.

(b) Disengage the guide and remove the reclining adjuster inside cover RH.

28. REMOVE FRONT SEAT LOWER CUSHION SHIELD LH

(a) Remove the screw.

(b) Disengage the guide and remove the front seat lower cushion shield LH.

29. REMOVE FRONT SEAT LOWER CUSHION SHIELD RH

(a) Remove the screw.

(b) Disengage the guide and remove the front seat lower cushion shield RH.

30. REMOVE SEAT CUSHION CLIMATE CONTROL DUCT (w/ Climate Control Seat System)

(a) Disengage the 2 claws and disconnect the seat cushion climate control duct as shown in the illustration.

(b) Disengage the 2 claws and pull up the front side of seat cushion climate control duct as shown in the illustration.

31. REMOVE SEAT CUSHION CLIMATE CONTROL BLOWER WITH BRACKET (w/ Climate Control Seat System)

(a) Disconnect the connector.

(b) Remove the screw.

(c) As shown in the illustration, bend the front part of the front seat cushion bracket.

NOTICE:
Do not bend the front seat cushion bracket excessively.

(d) As shown in the illustration, remove the seat cushion climate control blower with bracket by sliding it rearward of the seat to disengage the 3 hooks.

32. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION BRACKET (w/ Climate Control Seat System)

(a) While holding each nut using a wrench as shown in the illustration, remove the 3 screws and then the front seat cushion bracket.

(b) Remove the 3 bushes.

33. REMOVE SEATBACK CLIMATE CONTROL BLOWER (w/ Climate Control Seat System)

(a) for Driver Side:

(1) Disconnect the connector.

(2) Disengage the 4 clamps and disconnect the wire harness.

(b) for Front Passenger Side:

(1) Disconnect the connector.

(2) Disengage the 3 clamps and disconnect the wire harness.

(c) Disengage the connector clamp.

(d) Using a T30 ''TORX'' socket, remove the 6 ''TORX'' screws and remove the seatback climate control blower and the seatback climate control cover.

34. REMOVE CONNECTOR HOLDER

(a) w/o Climate Control Seat System:

(1) Disengage the clamp and disconnect the front seat wire.

(b) Disengage the 3 hooks and remove the connector holder.

35. REMOVE RECLINING REMOTE CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the 2 cable clamps.

(b) Remove the 2 nuts and the reclining remote control lever sub-assembly.

36. REMOVE LUMBAR SUPPORT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the connector.

(b) Remove the 2 screws and the lumbar support adjuster assembly.

(c) Remove the bush.

37. REMOVE FRONT SEAT SHOULDER BELT GUIDE

(a) Remove the 2 nuts and the front seat shoulder belt guide.

38. REMOVE OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION ECU (for Front Passenger Side) Removal

39. REMOVE SEAT POSITION SENSOR (for Driver Side) Removal

40. REMOVE SEAT HEATER CONTROL SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the connector.

(b) Disengage the 2 clamps and remove the seat heater control sub-assembly.

41. REMOVE FRONT SEAT WIRE

(a) Disconnect the 5 connectors.

(b) Disengage the 4 clamps and 2 claws, and remove the front seat wire from the front seat frame assembly with adjuster.

42. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY

NOTICE:
When replacing the front seat adjuster assembly, clear seat positions stored in the position control ECU and switch assembly, and then register the end-point positions of the reclining motor, lifter motor and slide motor.

(a) Disengage the 3 clamps and disconnect the side airbag wire harness.

(b) Remove the 4 bolts and remove the front seatback frame sub-assembly.

(d) Remove the 4 bolts and the front seat cushion frame sub-assembly.

(e) Disengage the 2 claws and remove the 2 connector holders.
