B2538 - Abnormal Roof Drive Motor RH Pulse
DESCRIPTION
The sliding roof control ECU assembly controls the speed of the roof panels using pulse signals that are generated by the rotation of the sliding roof drive gear assembly RH (roof motor RH).

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTICE:
Before starting troubleshooting, check that there are no mechanical problems.
PROCEDURE
1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (ROOF PULSE/RH VALUE)
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).
(c) Turn the Techstream on.
(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Retractable Hardtop / Data List.
(e) Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.
Retractable Hardtop (Sliding Roof Control ECU Assembly)
OK:
The Techstream display changes according to condition as shown in the table.
NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR RH - SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU)
OK -- REPLACE SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY
2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR RH - SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU)
(a) Disconnect the P53 connectors.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. INSPECT SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR ASSEMBLY RH (ROOF MOTOR RH)
(a) Disconnect the P56 connector.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:

NG -- REPLACE SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR ASSEMBLY RH (ROOF MOTOR RH)
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY
(a) Reconnect the P53 connector.
(b) Disconnect the P56 connector.
(c) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
