DOOR / HATCH: LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR: ADJUSTMENT
HINT
* Centering bolts are used to mount the door hinge to the door. The door cannot be adjusted with the centering bolts on. Substitute the centering bolts with standard bolts when making adjustments.
* Specified torque for standard bolts is shown in the standard bolt chart Standard Bolt - Specified Torque For Standard Bolts.
1. ADJUST LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR
NOTICE:
To prevent damage to the link, do not directly adjust the luggage link.
(a) Adjust the height of the back of the luggage compartment door.
(1) Loosen the 2 bolts for the luggage compartment door striker assembly.
(2) Change the number of installed luggage door shims to adjust the height of the rear end of the luggage compartment door.
(3) Tighten the 2 bolts after completing the adjustment.
Torque : 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)
(b) Adjust the luggage compartment door in the forward/rearward direction and adjust the front end of the door in the left/right direction.
(1) Using a T40 "TORX" socket wrench, loosen the 4 bolts that hold it to the luggage compartment door hinges and adjust the luggage compartment door position.
(2) Using a T40 "TORX" socket wrench, tighten the 4 bolts after the adjustment.
Torque : 22 Nm (224 kgf-cm, 16 ft-lbf)
(c) Adjust the rear of the luggage compartment door in the left/right direction.
(1) Using a hammer and a brass bar, adjust the left/right position of the door rear end.
NOTICE:
* Do not strike the resin protector directly.
* When removing the resin protector, do not reuse it as the protector may be damaged.
(d) Select and replace the back door lower stopper so that the clearances between the back door lower stopper and luggage door weatherstrip are as shown in the illustration.
