DESCRIPTION
The GLW RLY turns on when it receives a signal from the A/C amplifier. As a result, power is supplied to the heater glow plug.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).
(c) Turn the Techstream on.
(d) Expose the sensing portion of the solar sensor to light.
(e) Enter the following menus: Body / Air Conditioner / Data List.
(f) Check the value(s) by referring to the table below.
Air Conditioner
OK:
The display is as specified in the normal condition column.
(g) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage:
Result:
B -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (WATER BY-PASS GLOW PLUG - GLW RLY1)
C -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (WATER BY-PASS GLOW PLUG - GLW RLY2)
A -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT WATER BY-PASS GLOW PLUG
(a) Remove the water by-pass glow plugs.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPLACE WATER BY-PASS GLOW PLUG Removal
OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (WATER BY-PASS GLOW PLUG - GLW RLY1)
(a) Disconnect the water by-pass glow plug connector.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (GLW RLY1 CIRCUIT)
(a) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (A/C AMPLIFIER - GLW RLY1)
(a) Disconnect the A/C amplifier connector.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HEATER BLOWER WIRE
6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (WATER BY-PASS GLOW PLUG - GLW RLY2)
(a) Disconnect the water by-pass glow plug connector.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (GLW RLY2 CIRCUIT)
(a) Disconnect the A/C amplifier connector.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (A/C AMPLIFIER - GLW RLY2)
(a) Disconnect the A/C amplifier connector.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY Removal
