A760E AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION / TRANSAXLE: PARK / NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH: INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the park/neutral position switch to the automatic transmission.





HINT
Make sure that the manual valve lever shaft has not been rotated prior to installing the park/neutral position switch as the detent spring may become detached from the manual valve lever shaft.

(b) Temporarily install the bolt.

(c) Install a new lock washer and the nut.





Torque : 6.9 Nm (70 kgf-cm, 61 in-lbf)

(d) Temporarily install the control shaft lever.





(e) Turn the control shaft lever counterclockwise until it stops, and turn it clockwise 2 notches to set it to the neutral position.

(f) Remove the transmission control shaft lever.

(g) Align the neutral alignment mark line with the switch groove, and tighten the adjusting bolt.

Torque : 13 Nm (133 kgf-cm, 9 ft-lbf)

(h) Using a screwdriver, bend the tabs of the lock washer.





(i) Install the transmission control shaft lever RH and spring washer with the nut.





Torque : 16 Nm (163 kgf-cm, 12 ft-lbf)

(j) Connect the park/neutral position switch connector.
