SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

This circuit detects the conditions of the outer mirror switch assembly.

The outer mirror switch assembly sends information about the operating condition of the mirror switch (switch input signals) through the multiplex communication line. Then the switch input signals are sent to the outer mirror control ECU assembly.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

(a) Use the Techstream to check if the multiplex communication system is functioning normally How To Proceed With Troubleshooting.

OK:

Multiplex communication DTC is not output.

NG -- GO TO MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM Multiplex Communication System
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSEMBLY)

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Body / Data List.

(e) Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

OK:

On the Techstream screen, ON or OFF is displayed for each item according to the table above.

NG -- INSPECT OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSEMBLY

OK -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK RH)

3. INSPECT OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the outer mirror switch assembly Removal.





(b) Turn the mirror select switch to the L position.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





(d) Turn the mirror select switch to the R position.

(e) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPLACE OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSEMBLY Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSEMBLY - MAIN BODY ECU)

(a) Disconnect the J74 connector from the main body ECU (cowl side junction block RH).





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSEMBLY - MAIN BODY ECU)

OK -- REPLACE OUTER MIRROR CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY Removal
