2UR-GSE ENGINE MECHANICAL: ENGINE UNIT: INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL NO. 3 V-BANK COVER BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Install the No. 3 V-bank cover bracket sub-assembly with the bolt.
Torque : 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)
2. INSTALL NO. 4 V-BANK COVER BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Install the No. 4 V-bank cover bracket sub-assembly with the nut.
Torque : 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)
3. INSTALL IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY Installation
4. INSTALL KNOCK SENSOR Installation
5. INSTALL E.F.I. ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR Installation
6. INSTALL ENGINE OIL LEVEL SENSOR Installation
7. INSTALL OIL TEMPERATURE SENSOR Installation
8. INSTALL ENGINE OIL PRESSURE SWITCH ASSEMBLY
(a) Apply adhesive to 2 or 3 threads of the oil pressure switch.
Adhesive:
Toyota Genuine Adhesive 1344, Three Bond 1344 or equivalent
(b) Using a deep socket wrench (24mm), install the oil pressure switch.
Torque : 15 Nm (153 kgf-cm, 11 ft-lbf)
NOTICE:
Do not start the engine for at least 1 hour after installing the switch.
9. INSTALL NO. 2 WATER BY-PASS PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Install the No. 2 water by-pass pipe sub-assembly with the 4 bolts.
Torque : 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)
(b) Connect the 3 water by-pass hoses with the 3 hose clamps.
10. INSTALL INLET WATER HOUSING
(a) Install the inlet water housing and a new gasket with the 3 bolts.
Torque : 21 Nm (214 kgf-cm, 15 ft-lbf)
(b) Connect the inlet water hose with the hose clamp.
11. INSTALL WATER PUMP PULLEY Installation
12. INSTALL OIL PUMP DRIVE SHAFT PULLEY Installation
13. INSTALL NO. 2 IDLER PULLEY SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Install the bolt and idler pulley.
Torque : 43 Nm (439 kgf-cm, 32 ft-lbf)
14. INSTALL NO. 4 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Install the engine cover.
15. INSTALL NO. 5 ENGINE WIRE
(a) Install the engine wire with the 2 bolts.
Torque : 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)
(b) Connect the 4 knock sensor connectors.

24. INSTALL FUEL PUMP SPACER
(a) Install the 2 fuel pump spacers.
25. INSTALL FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY (for Bank 1) Installation
26. INSTALL NO. 3 FUEL PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation
27. INSTALL ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Bank 1) Installation
28. INSTALL FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY (for Bank 2) Installation
29. INSTALL NO. 2 FUEL PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation
30. INSTALL ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Bank 2) Installation
31. INSTALL FUEL PRESSURE PULSATION DAMPER ASSEMBLY (for Direct Injection) Installation
32. INSTALL NO. 3 COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation
33. INSTALL INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK ASSEMBLY Installation
34. CONNECT WATER BY-PASS HOSE
(a) Connect the water by-pass pipe hose, No. 3 water by-pass hose and No. 9 water by-pass hose with the 3 clamps to the water by-pass pipe sub-assembly.
35. INSTALL INJECTOR DRIVER Installation
36. INSTALL THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY Installation
37. INSTALL TRANSMISSION BREATHER ASSEMBLY Installation
38. INSTALL WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET
(a) Install the 2 wire harness clamp brackets with the 2 bolts.
for LH side - Torque : 21 Nm (214 kgf-cm, 15 ft-lbf)
for RH side - Torque : 29 Nm (296 kgf-cm, 21 ft-lbf)
39. INSTALL FRONT NO. 1 ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET RH
(a) Install the mounting bracket with the 4 bolts.
Torque : 35 Nm (357 kgf-cm, 26 ft-lbf)
40. INSTALL FRONT NO. 1 ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET LH
(a) Install the mounting bracket with the 4 bolts.
Torque : 35 Nm (357 kgf-cm, 26 ft-lbf)
41. INSTALL ENGINE WIRE
(a) Install the engine wire.
42. INSTALL ENGINE HANGER
(a) Install the 2 engine hangers with the 2 bolts as shown in the illustration.
Engine Hanger Part No.:
Torque : 43 Nm (438 kgf-cm, 32 ft-lbf)
43. REMOVE ENGINE STAND
(a) Attach an engine sling device and hang the engine with a chain block.
NOTICE:
When hanging the engine, make sure to hang the engine with the chain at an angle of 50° or less. Otherwise, the engine or engine hangers may be damaged.
(b) Remove the bolts and engine assembly from the engine stand.
