Disassembly

LIGHTING (EXT): HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY: DISASSEMBLY

1. REMOVE HEADLIGHT LOCKING CAP

(a) Remove the headlight locking cap as shown in the illustration.





2. REMOVE NO. 2 HEADLIGHT BULB

(a) Disconnect the connector.

(b) Remove the No. 2 headlight bulb as shown in the illustration.





NOTICE:
Do not touch the bulb glass.

3. REMOVE NO. 1 HEADLIGHT BACK COVER

(a) Release the set spring as shown in the illustration.





(b) Disengage the 2 guides and remove the No. 1 headlight back cover.

4. REMOVE NO. 1 HEADLIGHT COVER GASKET

(a) Remove the No. 1 headlight cover gasket.

NOTICE:
After the No. 1 headlight cover gasket is removed, be sure to replace it with a new one. Failure to do this may cause water ingress.

5. REMOVE DISCHARGE HEADLIGHT BULB

(a) Separate the light control ECU socket as shown in the illustration.





(b) Release the set spring and remove the discharge headlight bulb as shown in the illustration.





NOTICE:
Do not touch the bulb glass.

6. REMOVE FRONT TURN SIGNAL LIGHT BULB

(a) Turn the front turn signal light bulb and the headlight cord in the direction indicated by the arrow and remove them as a unit.





(b) Remove the front turn signal light bulb from the headlight cord.

7. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER SIDE SUPPORT

(a) Remove the 3 screws and front bumper side support.





8. REMOVE HEADLIGHT LEVELING MOTOR

(a) Disconnect the connector.

(b) Align the notches of the headlight leveling motor and the housing, and pull out the headlight leveling motor slightly.





HINT
For the headlight leveling motor RH, rotate it symmetrical to the directional arrow shown in the illustration.

(c) Lower the tip of the headlight leveling motor to disengage it from the reflector and remove the headlight leveling motor.





9. REMOVE HEADLIGHT LEVELING MOTOR BASE PACKING

(a) Remove the headlight leveling motor base packing.

NOTICE:
After the headlight leveling motor base packing is removed, be sure to replace it with a new one. Failure to do this may cause water ingress.

10. REMOVE LIGHT CONTROL ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Disengage the 2 claws and 2 clamps, and disconnect the headlight cord.





(b) Remove the 2 screws.

(c) Disengage the 2 pins and remove the bracket.





(d) Remove the 4 screws.





(e) Disconnect the connector and remove the light control ECU sub-assembly.

11. REMOVE HEADLIGHT GASKET

(a) Remove the headlight gasket.

NOTICE:
After the headlight gasket is removed, be sure to replace it with a new one. Failure to do so may cause water ingress.

12. REMOVE HEADLIGHT CORD

(a) Disconnect the cover as shown in the illustration.





(b) Disconnect the connector.

(c) Disconnect 2 connectors





(d) Disengage the grommet and remove the headlight cord.
