2UR-GSE FUEL: FUEL PUMP: INSPECTION

1. INSPECT FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY

(a) Inspect the resistance of the fuel pump assembly.





(1) Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between terminals 1 and 2.

Standard resistance:

0.2 to 3.0 Ohms at 20°C (68°F)

If the result is not as specified, replace the fuel pump assembly.

(b) Inspect the operation of the fuel pump assembly.

(1) Connect a battery positive (+) lead to terminal 1 of the connector, and a negative (-) lead to terminal 2. Check that the fuel pump assembly operates.

NOTICE:
* These tests must be performed within 10 seconds to prevent the coil from burning out.
* Keep the fuel pump assembly as far away from the battery as possible.
* Always turn the voltage on and off on the battery side, not on the fuel pump assembly side.
