Intake System
2UR-GSE INTAKE / EXHAUST: INTAKE SYSTEM: ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION
1. INSPECT INTAKE SYSTEM
(a) Check that there are no vacuum leaks at the points shown in the illustration.
2. INSPECT INTAKE AIR CONTROL VALVE ACTUATOR
(a) Disconnect the vacuum hose.
(b) Confirm that the intake air control valve closes under vacuum and opens smoothly when the vacuum is released.
If the result is not as specified, replace the air cleaner assembly.
(c) Connect the vacuum hose.
3. INSPECT VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE
(a) Disconnect the connector and 2 vacuum hoses.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
If the result is not as specified, replace the air cleaner assembly.
(c) Check the operation of the vacuum switching valve.
(1) When vacuum is applied to the port E, check that air is sucked into the filter.
If the result is not as specified, replace the air cleaner assembly.
(2) Apply battery voltage across the terminals. When vacuum is applied to the port F, check that air is sucked into the port E.
If the result is not as specified, replace the air cleaner assembly.
(d) Connect the connector and 2 vacuum hose.
4. INSPECT AIR CLEANER FILTER ELEMENT
(a) Check that the air cleaner is not excessively dirty.
If the air cleaner is excessively dirty, replace the air cleaner filter element.
(b) If cleaning the air cleaner filter element, blow compressed air as shown in the illustration to clean it.
