INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
First perform the communication function inspections in HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING to confirm that there are no CAN communication malfunctions before troubleshooting this symptom.

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK FOR DTC

(a) Check for DTC Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

OK:

DTC B2402 output does not occur.

NG -- GO TO DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART Lighting System
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK FOR DTC

(a) Check for DTC Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

OK:

DTC B2482 output does not occur.

NG -- GO TO DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART Lighting System
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CONFIRM LIGHT POSITION

(a) Check the malfunctioning clearance light.

B -- PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (TAILLIGHT)

C -- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH)
A -- Continue to next step.

4. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (CLEARANCE LIGHT)

(a) Using the Techstream, perform the Active Test.

OK:

Clearance light condition is switched by Active Test.

NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MULTIPLEX NETWORK FRONT LIGHT ECU - HEADLIGHT)
OK -- Continue to next step.

5. CHECK MULTIPLEX NETWORK FRONT LIGHT ECU (OPERATION)

(a) Temporarily replace the multiplex network front light ECU with a new or normally functioning one.

(b) Check the clearance light operation.

OK:

Clearance light operation is normal.

NG -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU

OK -- END (REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK FRONT LIGHT ECU)

6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MULTIPLEX NETWORK FRONT LIGHT ECU - HEADLIGHT)





(a) Disconnect the B14 ECU connector.

(b) Disconnect the B1 or B11 light connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:

for LH
for RH










NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

7. CHECK HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY (OPERATION)

(a) Temporarily replace the headlight with a new or normally functioning one Removal.

(b) Check the clearance light operation.

OK:

Clearance light operation is normal.

NG -- REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK FRONT LIGHT ECU

OK -- END (REPLACE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY) Removal

8. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (TAILLIGHT)

(a) Using the Techstream, perform Active Test.

OK:

Taillight condition is switched by Active Test.

NG -- CONFIRM LIGHT POSITION
OK -- Continue to next step.

9. CHECK OPERATION LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY (REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU)

(a) Temporarily replace the luggage room junction block with a new or normally functioning one.

(b) Check the clearance light operation.

OK:

Clearance light operation is normal.

NG -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU

OK -- END (REPLACE LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY)

10. CONFIRM LIGHT POSITION

(a) Check the malfunctioning light.

11. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR COMBINATION LIGHT - REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU AND BODY GROUND)





(a) Disconnect the S64 ECU connector.

(b) Disconnect the S51 or S52 light connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:

for LH
for RH










NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

12. CHECK LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY (REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU) (TIL1, TIL2 VOLTAGE)





(a) Disconnect the S64 ECU connector.

(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard voltage:





NG -- REPLACE LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY (REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU)

OK -- REPLACE REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY Removal

13. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR LIGHT - REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU AND BODY GROUND)





(a) Disconnect the S63 ECU connector.

(b) Disconnect the S33 and S41 light connectors.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:

for LH
for RH










NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

14. CHECK LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY (REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU) (TIL3, TIL4 VOLTAGE)





(a) Disconnect the S63 ECU connector.

(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard voltage:





NG -- REPLACE LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY (REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU)

OK -- REPLACE REAR LIGHT ASSEMBLY Removal

15. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LICENSE PLATE LIGHT - REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU AND BODY GROUND)





(a) Disconnect the S63 ECU connector.

(b) Disconnect the S37 light connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

16. CHECK LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY (REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU) (LCE2 VOLTAGE)





(a) Remove the S63 ECU connector.

(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard voltage:





NG -- REPLACE LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY (REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU)

OK -- REPLACE LICENSE PLATE LIGHT ASSEMBLY Removal

17. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH)

(a) Using the Techstream, read the Data List.

Combination Switch





OK:

Condition sign can be displayed.

NG -- REPLACE HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH ASSEMBLY Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

18. CHECK WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH (OPERATION)

(a) Temporarily replace the windshield wiper switch with a new or normally functioning one Removal.

(b) Check the clearance light operation.

OK:

Clearance light operation is normal.

NG -- CONFIRM LIGHT POSITION

OK -- END (REPLACE WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH) Removal

19. CONFIRM LIGHT POSITION

(a) Check the malfunctioning light.

20. CHECK MULTIPLEX NETWORK FRONT LIGHT ECU (OPERATION)

(a) Temporarily replace the multiplex network front light ECU with a new or normally functioning one.

(b) Check the clearance light operation.

OK:

Clearance light operation is normal.

OK -- END (REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK FRONT LIGHT ECU)

21. CHECK OPERATION LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY (REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU)

(a) Temporarily replace the luggage room junction block with a new or normally functioning one.

(b) Check the clearance light operation.

OK:

Clearance light operation is normal.

NG -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU

OK -- END (REPLACE LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY)
