Brake - General Maintenance





MAINTENANCE: BRAKE: GENERAL MAINTENANCE

1. INSPECT BRAKE LININGS AND DRUMS, PADS AND DISCS

(a) Check the brake pad and discs.

(1) for 6-Pot Caliper:

Inspect the front brake pads and discs Front Brake (for 6-Pot Caliper).

(2) except 6-Pot Caliper:

Inspect the front brake pads and discs Front Brake (except 6-Pot Caliper).

(3) Inspect the rear brake pads and discs Rear Brake.

(b) Check the brake linings and drums.

Inspect the parking brake linings and drums Testing and Inspection.

2. INSPECT BRAKE FLUID Testing and Inspection

3. REPLACE BRAKE FLUID

(a) Replace the brake fluid Service and Repair.

4. INSPECT BRAKE LINES AND HOSES

HINT
Work in a well-lighted area. Turn the front wheels fully to the right or left before beginning the inspection.

(a) Using a mirror, check the entire circumference and length of the brake lines and hoses for:





* Damage

* Wear

* Deformation

* Cracks

* Corrosion

* Leaks

* Bends

* Twists

(b) Check all the clamps for tightness and the connections for leakage.

(c) Check that the hoses and lines are not near sharp edges, moving parts or the exhaust system.

(d) Check that the lines are installed properly and pass through the center of the grommets.
