Removal





SEAT: FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY: REMOVAL

CAUTION:
Wear protective gloves. Sharp areas on the parts may injure your hands.

HINT
* Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.
* The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

1. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH Removal

2. DISCONNECT FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Operate the power seat switch (slide switch) to move the seat to the foremost position.

(b) Pull the seat belt anchor cover cap in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration to remove it.





(c) Remove the bolt and disconnect the anchor part of the front seat outer belt.





(d) for Front Passenger Side:





Disconnect the connector.

3. REMOVE INNER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER LH

(a) Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and remove the inner seat track bracket cover LH.

Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

4. REMOVE OUTER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER LH

(a) Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and remove the outer seat track bracket cover LH.

Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

5. REMOVE OUTER SEAT TRACK COVER RH (for Front Passenger Side with Ottoman)

(a) Detach the 2 pieces of fastening tape.

(b) Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and remove the outer seat track cover RH.

Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

6. REMOVE INNER SEAT TRACK COVER RH (for Front Passenger Side with Ottoman)

(a) Detach the 2 pieces of fastening tape.

(b) Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and remove the inner seat track cover RH.

Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

7. REMOVE FRONT SEAT OUTER TRACK BRACKET COVER LH

(a) Operate the power seat switch (slide switch) to move the seat to the rearmost position.

(b) Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and remove the front seat outer track bracket cover LH.

Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

8. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER TRACK BRACKET COVER LH

(a) Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and remove the front seat inner track bracket cover LH.

Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

9. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Disable the AUTO TILT AWAY function by changing the customize parameter Repair Instruction - Customize Parameters.

NOTICE:
Record the current customize parameter setting (whether the AUTO TILT AWAY function is enabled or disabled) in order to restore the current setting after finishing the operation.

HINT
Performing the above operation causes the AUTO TILT AWAY function to be disabled when the engine switch is turned off.

(b) Turn the engine switch on(IG). Operate the tilt and telescopic switch to fully retract and tilt up the steering column assembly.

(c) Turn the engine switch off.

(d) Remove the 2 bolts.





(e) Operate the power seat switch (slide switch) to move the seat to the foremost position.

(f) Remove the 2 bolts.





(g) Operate the power seat switch (slide switch) and move the seat to the center position, and operate the power seat switch (reclining switch) and move the seatback to the upright position.

HINT
If removing the front seat cushion shield of a seat with cushion sliding, the procedure becomes easier to perform if the seat cushion is moved forward 10 mm (0.394 in.) or more from the rearmost position.

(h) Operate the power seat switch (reclining switch) to the reclining side for approximately 3 seconds.

(i) Disconnect the cable from the battery negative (-) terminal.

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

NOTICE:
* w/ Navigation System (for HDD):
After the engine switch is turned off, the display and navigation module display (HDD navigation system) records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, be sure to wait for the time specified in the following table before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

Waiting Time before Disconnecting Cable from Negative (-) Battery Terminal:





* When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

(j) Place protective tape as shown in the illustration.





(k) Detach the wire harness clamp.





(l) Disconnect the 5 connectors under the seat.

NOTICE:
Make sure the center pillar does not contact the power seat switch knob.

(m) Remove the front seat assembly as shown in the illustration.

NOTICE:
* Make sure the center pillar does not contact the power seat switch knob.
* Make sure the seatback does not contact the shift lever knob.
* Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

HINT
Remove the seat assembly through the door frame so that it passes under the steering wheel.
