Position of Seat Vibrator Cannot Be Adjusted

DESCRIPTION

The position control ECU operates the lumbar motor based on the signals received from the seat vibrator switch to adjust the seat vibrator position.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POSITION CONTROL ECU - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)

(a) for LH Side:





Disconnect the f40 ECU connector.

(b) for RH Side:

Disconnect the f37 ECU connector.

(c) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard voltage:

for LH Side





for RH Side





(d) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:

for LH Side





for RH Side





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK POSITION CONTROL ECU (SWITCH CIRCUIT)

(a) Remove the position control ECU with its connectors still connected





(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard voltage:

for LH Side





for RH Side





NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POSITION CONTROL ECU - SEAT VIBRATOR SWITCH)
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. INSPECT SEPARATE TYPE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY (LUMBAR MOTOR)

(a) Check the operation of the lumbar motor.





(1) Apply battery voltage to the lumbar motor.

(2) Check that the lumbar support adjuster moves smoothly.

4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POSITION CONTROL ECU - LUMBAR MOTOR)

(a) for LH Side:





(1) Disconnect the f40 ECU connector.

(2) Disconnect the f42 motor connector.

(b) for RH Side:

(1) Disconnect the f37 ECU connector.

(2) Disconnect the f39 motor connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POSITION CONTROL ECU - SEAT VIBRATOR SWITCH)

(a) for LH Side:





Disconnect the f40 ECU connector.

(b) for RH Side:

Disconnect the f37 ECU connector.

(c) except 4-Passenger with Ottoman:

Disconnect the r6 switch connector.

(d) for 4-Passenger with Ottoman:

Disconnect the Y6 switch connector.

(e) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:

for LH Side (except 4-Passenger with Ottoman)





for RH Side (except 4-Passenger with Ottoman)





for LH Side (for 4-Passenger with Ottoman)





for RH Side (for 4-Passenger with Ottoman)





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

6. CHECK SEAT VIBRATOR SWITCH (OPERATION)

(a) Replace the seat vibrator switch with a new or normally operating one. Perform an operation inspection.

OK:

Lumbar motor operates normally.
