C1A40 - ENG / EHV Device
DESCRIPTION
When the driving support ECU receives a hybrid control system or SFI system malfunction signal, DTC C1A40 is stored.
INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK FOR DTC (HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM)
(a) Clear DTCs Hybrid Control System.
(b) Make sure the following conditions are met:
HINT
If the detection conditions are not met, the system cannot detect malfunctions.
- Pre-collision system:
The power switch ON (IG).
- Radar cruise control system:
The vehicle is being driven at a speed of approximately 50 km/h (31 mph) or more and the distance control switch is on.
(c) Check for DTCs.
OK:
Hybrid control system DTCs are not output.
NG -- GO TO HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM Hybrid Control System
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK FOR DTC (SFI SYSTEM)
(a) Clear DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
(b) Make sure the following conditions are met:
HINT
If the detection conditions are not met, the system cannot detect malfunctions.
- Pre-collision system:
The power switch ON (IG).
- Radar cruise control system:
The vehicle is being driven at a speed of approximately 50 km/h (31 mph) or more and the distance control switch is on.
(c) Check for DTCs.
OK:
SFI system DTCs are not output.
NG -- GO TO SFI SYSTEM SFI System
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK FOR DTC
(a) Clear DTCs Pre-Collision System.
(b) Make sure the following conditions are met:
HINT
If the detection conditions are not met, the system cannot detect malfunctions.
- Pre-collision system:
The power switch ON (IG)
- Radar cruise control system:
The vehicle is being driven at a speed of approximately 50 km/h (31 mph) or more and the distance control switch is on.
(c) Check for DTCs Pre-Collision System.
OK:
DTC C1A40 is not output.
NG -- REPLACE DRIVING SUPPORT ECU
OK -- END
4. REPLACE DRIVING SUPPORT ECU
(a) Replace the driving support ECU with a new one Removal.
NOTICE:
When replacing the driving support ECU, always replace it with a new one and be sure to perform initialization Testing and Inspection. If an ECU which was installed to another vehicle is used, the information stored in the ECU will not match the information from the vehicle, and as a result, a DTC may be stored.
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
5. CHECK FOR DTC
(a) Clear DTCs Pre-Collision System.
(b) Make sure the following conditions are met:
HINT
If the detection conditions are not met, the system cannot detect malfunctions.
- Pre-collision system:
The power switch ON (IG).
- Radar cruise control system:
The vehicle is being driven at a speed of approximately 50 km/h (31 mph) or more and the distance control switch is on.
(c) Check for DTCs Pre-Collision System.
OK:
DTC C1A40 is not output.
NG -- REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU
OK -- END
6. REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU
(a) Replace the hybrid vehicle control ECU with a new one Service and Repair.
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
7. CHECK FOR DTC
(a) Clear DTCs Pre-Collision System.
(b) Make sure the following conditions are met:
HINT
If the detection conditions are not met, the system cannot detect malfunctions.
- Pre-collision system:
The power switch ON (IG).
- Radar cruise control system:
The vehicle is being driven at a speed of approximately 50 km/h (31 mph) or more and the distance control switch is on.
(c) Check for DTCs Pre-Collision System.
OK:
DTC C1A40 is not output.
NG -- REPLACE ECM Removal
OK -- END
