DESCRIPTION

In some cases, such as a malfunction or when a fail-safe function has been engaged, the air conditioning system may be unable to cool the HV battery. If this happens, the cooling capacity of the HV battery will be reduced, and battery life may be reduced. Therefore, the hybrid vehicle control ECU receives "Air Conditioner Information 1 and 2" from the air conditioning amplifier via CAN communication in order to monitor air conditioning system operation. If an abnormal condition occurs, the hybrid vehicle control ECU will set a DTC.

The air conditioning amplifier sends air conditioning system information to the hybrid vehicle control ECU via CAN communication.

The air conditioning system condition can be checked using "Air Conditioner Information 1 and 2" in the data list.

If the DTCs are cleared, a long time is required to store P3085-189 and/or P3085-190 again.





INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK FOR DTCS

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the power switch on (IG).

(c) Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.

(d) Check if DTCs are output.

Result:

DTC P3085-189 or P3085-190 is output.
