SEAT BELT: POWER SHOULDER BELT ANCHORAGE SYSTEM: OPERATION CHECK
1. CHECK SHOULDER BELT ANCHORAGE FUNCTION
(a) Operate the shoulder belt anchorage switch and check that the shoulder belt anchor slides up or down in response to the switch operation.
2. CHECK SHOULDER BELT ANCHORAGE
(a) Check the PTC operation inside the power seat motor.
NOTICE:
Perform this inspection with the parts installed to the vehicle.
(1) Move the shoulder belt anchor to the uppermost or lowermost position, and wait approximately 60 seconds.
(2) Operate the shoulder belt anchorage switch in the same direction, and measure the time required before the current is cut (the motor operating sound stops).
Standard:
12 to 14 seconds
(3) Release the switch, wait approximately 60 seconds, and then operate the shoulder belt anchorage switch in the opposite direction and check that the motor operates.
3. CHECK MEMORY AND RESTORING OPERATION
HINT
* While pressing the SET switch, if 2 or more of the M1, M2 and M3 switches are pressed simultaneously, the anchor position is not recorded.
* If one of the M1, M2 and M3 switches is not pressed within 3 seconds of the SET switch being pressed, the anchor position is not recorded.
(a) Turn the power switch ON (IG).
(b) Operate the shoulder belt anchorage switch, and move the shoulder belt anchor to the uppermost position.
(c) Check that the buzzer sounds for 0.5 seconds and the shoulder belt anchor position is memorized when the M1 and SET switches of the seat memory switch are pressed and held, or the SET switch is pressed and then the M1 switch is pressed within 3 seconds.
(d) Operate the shoulder belt anchorage switch and move the shoulder belt anchor out of the uppermost position.
(e) Check that the buzzer sounds for 0.5 seconds and the shoulder belt anchor position is memorized when the M2 and SET switches of the seat memory switch are pressed and held, or the SET switch is pressed and then the M2 switch is pressed within 3 seconds.
(f) Operate the shoulder belt anchorage switch, and move the shoulder belt anchor to the lowermost position.
(g) Check that the buzzer sounds for 0.5 seconds and the shoulder belt anchor position is memorized when the M3 and SET switches of the seat memory switch are pressed and held, or the SET switch is pressed and then the M3 switch is pressed within 3 seconds.
(h) Check that the buzzer sounds for 0.1 seconds and the shoulder belt anchor moves into the uppermost position (memorized position) when the M1 switch of the seat memory switch is pressed.
(i) Check that the buzzer sounds for 0.1 seconds and the shoulder belt anchor moves out of the uppermost position (memorized position) when the M2 switch of the seat memory switch is pressed.
(j) Check that the buzzer sounds for 0.1 seconds and the shoulder belt anchor moves into the lowermost position (memorized position) when the M3 switch of the seat memory switch is pressed.
(k) After the power switch is turned off and the driver side door or front passenger side door is opened, check that the buzzer sounds for 0.1 seconds and the shoulder belt anchor moves into the memorized position when the M1, M2 or M3 switch of the seat memory switch is pressed within 180 seconds.
(l) After the power switch is turned off and the driver side door is opened and then closed, check that the buzzer sounds for 0.1 seconds and the shoulder belt anchor moves into the memorized position when the M1, M2 or M3 switch of the seat memory switch is pressed within approximately 60 seconds.
(m) After the power switch is turned ON (IG) and the shift lever is moved to P, check that the buzzer sounds for 0.1 seconds and the shoulder belt anchor moves into the memorized position when the M1, M2 or M3 switch of the seat memory switch is pressed.
4. CHECK MEMORY CALL FUNCTION
(a) AUTOMATIC MEMORY CALL OPERATION INSPECTION
(1) With the transmitter's recognition code registered into the memory system, perform an entry unlock or wireless unlock operation. Open the driver door and check that the front seat, front seat belt anchor, steering wheel and outer rear view mirror automatically move to the positions recorded in memory.
(b) MEMORY REGISTRATION (WITH WIRELESS FUNCTION)
(1) Prepare by recording the shoulder belt anchor position through the memory switch (M1, M2 or M3).
(2) With the power switch OFF and the driver door closed, press and hold both of the following: a memory switch (M1, M2 or M3) and transmitter UNLOCK switch. Continue holding the switches until the answer-back buzzer sounds.
(c) MEMORY REGISTRATION (WITH WIRELESS FUNCTION, CARD TYPE)
(1) Prepare by recording the shoulder belt anchor position through the memory switch (M1, M2 or M3).
(2) Hold only the transmitter to be registered.
(3) With the power switch OFF and the driver door closed, press and hold both of the following: a memory switch (M1, M2 or M3) and door lock control switch. Continue holding the switches until the answer-back buzzer sounds.
NOTICE:
Do not bring 2 or more keys into the vehicle.
HINT
* Either the lock or unlock switch on the door control switch can be pressed.
* The door control switch on the driver side or front passenger side can be used.
(d) MEMORY ERASURE (WITH WIRELESS FUNCTION)
(1) With the power switch OFF and the driver door closed, press and hold both of the following: the memory SET switch and transmitter UNLOCK switch. Continue holding the switches until the answer-back buzzer sounds.
(e) MEMORY ERASURE (WITH WIRELESS FUNCTION, CARD TYPE)
(1) Hold only the transmitter of which registration is to be erased.
(2) With the power switch OFF and the driver door closed, press and hold both of the following: the memory SET switch and door lock control switch. Continue holding the switches until the answer-back buzzer sounds.
NOTICE:
Do not bring 2 or more keys into the vehicle.
HINT
* Either the lock or unlock switch on the door control switch can be pressed.
* The door control switch on the driver side or front passenger side can be used.
