BRAKE CONTROL: REAR SPEED SENSOR: REMOVAL

NOTICE:
While the battery is connected, even if the power switch is OFF, the brake control system activates when the brake pedal is depressed or the door courtesy switch turns on. Therefore during servicing of the brake system components, do not operate the brake pedal and open/close the doors while the battery is connected.

HINT
* The procedures listed below are for the RH side.
* Other than areas where instructions are provided, use the same procedures for the LH side and RH side.

1. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

2. REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER LH Removal

3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

NOTICE:
* w/ Navigation System (for HDD):
After the power switch is turned off, the display and navigation module display (HDD navigation system) records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the power switch off, be sure to wait for the time specified in the following table before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

Waiting Time before Disconnecting Cable from Negative (-) Battery Terminal:





* When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

4. REMOVE ROPE HOOK Removal

5. REMOVE ROPE HOOK ASSEMBLY Removal

6. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE BOARD RH Removal

7. REMOVE NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT LIGHT ASSEMBLY Removal

8. REMOVE NO. 1 COOLER COVER (w/ Air Conditioning System) Removal

9. REMOVE FRONT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER Removal

10. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE BOARD LH (w/o Spare Tire) Removal

11. REMOVE DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY (w/o Spare Tire)

12. REMOVE TOOL BOX (w/o Spare Tire) Removal

13. REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE Removal

14. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER ASSEMBLY LH Removal

15. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER ASSEMBLY RH Removal

16. REMOVE REAR WHEEL

17. REMOVE SKID CONTROL SENSOR WIRE

(a) for RH:

(1) Disconnect the sensor connector from the vehicle side connector.





(b) for LH:

(1) Disconnect the sensor connector from the vehicle side connector.





(c) Disconnect the grommet of the speed sensor wire from the hole of the wheel house.





(d) Disconnect the rear height control sensor connector.





(e) Remove the 2 nuts and 2 sensor clamps.

(f) Disconnect the pad wear indicator connector.





(g) Remove the bolt and sensor clamp.

(h) Disconnect the rear speed sensor connector.

NOTICE:
* Be careful not to damage the speed sensor.
* Prevent foreign matter from adhering to the speed sensor.

18. REMOVE REAR SPEED SENSOR RH

(a) Remove the bolt and sensor.





NOTICE:
* The speed sensor is easily damaged. When pulling out the speed sensor from the axle hub, do not use excessive force to rotate and remove it.
* Prevent foreign matter from attaching to the sensor tip.
* Do not drop the sensor. If the sensor has been dropped replace the sensor with a new one.
