Doors, Hood and Trunk: Adjustments
ADJUSTMENT
1. INSPECT HOOD SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Check that the clearance measurements of areas "a" through "e" are within each standard range.
HINT: Centering bolts are used to mount the hood hinge and hood lock. The hood and hood lock cannot be adjusted with the centering bolts installed. Substitute the centering bolts with standard bolts when making adjustments.
2. ADJUST HOOD SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Horizontally and vertically adjust the hood.
1. Loosen the 4 hinge bolts of the hood.
2. Adjust the clearance between the hood and front fender by moving the hood.
3. Tighten the 4 hinge bolts after the adjustment.
Torque: 13 N.m (133 kgf.cm, 10ft.lbf)
b. Adjust the height of the front end of the hood using the hood bumper cushions.
1. Adjust the 2 hood bumper cushions so that the heights of the hood and fender are aligned.
HINT: Raise or lower the front end of the hood by turning the 2 cushion rubbers.
c. Remove the cool air intake duct seal.
d. w/ Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System:
1. Remove the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly.
e. Adjust the hood lock.
1. Loosen the 3 bolts.
2. Tighten the bolts after adjustment.
Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf.cm, 71in.lbf)
3. Check that the striker can engage with the hood lock smoothly.
f. Install the cool air intake duct seal.
g. w/ Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System:
1. Install the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly.
3. INSPECT FRONT DOOR
a. Check that the clearance measurements of areas "a" through "t" are within each standard range.
HINT:
- Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.
- The procedure listed below is for the LH side.
- Centering bolts are used to mount the door hinge to the vehicle body and door. The door cannot be adjusted with the centering bolts installed. Substitute the centering bolts with standard bolts when making adjustments.
4. ADJUST FRONT DOOR
NOTICE: Make sure to turn the engine switch off when adjusting door lock strikers.
a. Using SST, loosen the 4 hinge bolts on the vehicle body and adjust the door position.
SST: 09812-00010
b. Tighten the 4 hinge bolts on the vehicle body after adjustment.
Torque: 26 N.m (265 kgf.cm, 19ft.lbf)
c. Loosen the 4 hinge bolts on the door and adjust the door position.
d. Tighten the 4 hinge bolts on the door after adjustment.
Torque: 27 N.m (275 kgf.cm, 20ft.lbf)
e. Disengage the 4 claws and front door lock striker cover.
f. Using a T40 "TORX" socket wrench, slightly loosen 2 the striker mounting screws.
g. Using a brass bar and a hammer, hit the striker to adjust its position.
h. Using a T40 "TORX" socket wrench, tighten the 2 striker mounting screws after adjustment.
Torque: 23 N.m (235 kgf.cm, 17ft.lbf)
i. Engage the 4 claws to front door lock striker cover.
5. INSPECT REAR DOOR
a. Check that the clearance measurements of areas "a" through "q" are within each standard range.
HINT:
- Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.
- The procedure listed below is for the LH side.
- Centering bolts are used to mount the door hinge to the vehicle body and door. The door cannot be adjusted with the centering bolts installed. Substitute the centering bolts with standard bolts when making adjustments.
6. ADJUST REAR DOOR
NOTICE: Make sure to turn the engine switch off when adjusting door lock strikers.
a. Using SST, loosen the 4 hinge bolts on the vehicle body and adjust the door position.
SST: 09812-00010
b. Tighten the 4 hinge bolts on the vehicle body after adjustment.
Torque: 26 N.m (265 kgf.cm, 19ft.lbf)
c. Loosen the 4 hinge bolts on the door and adjust the door position.
d. Tighten the 4 hinge bolts on the door after adjustment.
Torque: 27 N.m (275 kgf.cm, 20ft.lbf)
e. Disengage the 4 claws and rear door lock striker cover.
f. Using a T40 "TORX" socket wrench, slightly loosen the 2 striker mounting screws.
g. Using a brass bar and a hammer, hit the striker to adjust its position.
h. Using a T40 "TORX" socket wrench, tighten the 2 striker mounting screws after adjustment.
Torque: 23 N.m (235 kgf.cm, 17ft.lbf)
7. INSPECT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR
a. Check that the clearance measurements of areas "a" through "d" are within each standard range.
HINT: Centering bolts are used to mount the door hinge to the door. The door cannot be adjusted with the centering bolts installed. Substitute the centering bolts with standard bolts when making adjustments.
8. ADJUST LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR
a. Loosen the 4 door side hinge bolts to adjust the door horizontally and vertically.
Torque: 7.0 N.m (71 kgf.cm, 62in.lbf)
b. Using a T40 "TORX" socket wrench, slightly loosen the 2 striker mounting screws.
c. Using a brass bar and a hammer, hit the striker to adjust its position.
d. Using a T40 "TORX" socket wrench, tighten the 2 striker mounting screws after adjustment.
Torque: 23 N.m (235 kgf.cm, 17ft.lbf)
