Doors, Hood and Trunk: Adjustments






ADJUSTMENT

1. INSPECT HOOD SUB-ASSEMBLY

a. Check that the clearance measurements of areas A to E are within the standard ranges.










HINT: Centering bolts are used to mount the hood hinge to the vehicle body and hood. The hood cannot be adjusted with the centering bolts on. Substitute the centering bolts for standard bolts when making adjustments.

2. ADJUST HOOD SUB-ASSEMBLY

a. Adjust the hood position.







1. Loosen the 4 hinge bolts on the hood and adjust the hood position.
2. Move the hood and adjust the clearance between the hood and front fender.
3. Tighten the 4 hinge bolts on the hood after the adjustment.

Torque: 13 N.m (133 kgf.cm, 9.6 ft.lbf)







b. Adjust the cushion rubbers so that the hood and fender are aligned.

HINT: Raise or lower the front end of the hood by turning the cushion rubber.







c. Adjust the hood lock.
1. Loosen the 3 bolts.
2. Adjust the hood lock position so that the striker can enter it smoothly.
3. Tighten the 3 bolts after the adjustment.

Torque: 7.5 N.m (76 kgf.cm, 66in.lbf)

3. INSPECT FRONT DOOR PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
a. Check that the clearance measurements of areas A to R are within the standard ranges.










HINT:
- Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.
- The procedure listed below is for the LH side.
- Centering bolts are used to mount the door hinge to the vehicle body and door. The door cannot be adjusted with the centering bolts on. Substitute the centering bolts for standard bolts when making adjustments.

4. ADJUST FRONT DOOR PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY LH







a. Using SST, loosen the hinge bolts on the body and adjust the door position.

SST: 09812-00010

b. Tighten the hinge bolts on the body after the adjustment.

Torque: 26 N.m (265 kgf.cm, 19 ft.lbf)

c. Loosen the hinge bolts on the door and adjust the door position.
d. Tighten the hinge bolts on the door after the adjustment.

Torque: 27 N.m (275 kgf.cm, 20 ft.lbf)







e. Detach the 4 claws and remove the front door lock striker cover.







f. Using a T40 "TORX" socket, adjust the striker position by slightly loosening the striker mounting screws and hitting the striker with a plastic-faced hammer.
g. Using a T40 "TORX" socket, tighten the striker mounting screws after the adjustment.

Torque: 23 N.m (235 kgf.cm, 17 ft.lbf)

h. Attach the 4 claws to install the front door lock striker cover.

5. INSPECT REAR DOOR PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
a. Check that the clearance measurements of areas A to R are within the standard ranges.










HINT:
- Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.
- The procedure listed below is for the LH side.
- Centering bolts are used to mount the door hinge to the vehicle body and door. The door cannot be adjusted with the centering bolts on. Substitute the centering bolts for standard bolts when making adjustments.

6. ADJUST REAR DOOR PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY LH







a. Loosen the hinge bolts on the body and adjust the door position.
b. Tighten the hinge bolts on the body after the adjustment.

Torque: 26 N.m (265 kgf.cm, 19 ft.lbf)

c. Loosen the hinge bolts on the door and adjust the door position.
d. Tighten the hinge bolts on the door after the adjustment.

Torque: 27 N.m (275 kgf.cm, 20 ft.lbf)







e. Detach the 4 claws and remove the front door lock striker cover.







f. Using a T40 "TORX" socket, adjust the striker position by slightly loosening the striker mounting screws and hitting the striker with a plastic-faced hammer.
g. Using a T30 "TORX" socket, tighten the striker mounting screws after the adjustment.

Torque: 23 N.m (235 kgf.cm, 17 ft.lbf)

h. Attach the 4 claws to install the front door lock striker cover.

7. INSPECT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Check that the clearance measurements of areas A to H are within the standard ranges.










HINT:
- Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.
- The procedure listed below is for the LH side.
- Centering bolts are used to mount the door hinge to the vehicle body and door. The door cannot be adjusted with the centering bolts on. Substitute the centering bolts for standard bolts when making adjustments.

8. ADJUST LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY







a. Loosen the door side hinge bolts and adjust the door position.
b. Tighten the door side hinge bolts on the body after the adjustment.

Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf.cm, 71 in.lbf)







c. Detach the 2 claws and 2 guides and remove the rear luggage room cover.







d. Using a T40 "TORX" socket, adjust the striker position by slightly loosening the striker mounting screws and hitting the striker with a plastic-faced hammer.
e. Using a T40 "TORX" socket, tighten the striker mounting screws after the adjustment.

Torque: 23 N.m (235 kgf.cm, 17 ft.lbf)

f. Attach the 2 guides and 2 claws to install the rear luggage room cover.
