Head Rest: Testing and Inspection
ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION
1. CHECK ACTIVE HEADREST INFLATOR (for Vehicle not Involved in Collision)
a. Perform a diagnostic system check.
b. With the active headrest inflator installed on the vehicle, perform a visual check. If there are any defects as mentioned below, replace the active headrest inflator with a new one: Cuts, minute cracks or marked discoloration on the active headrest inflator.
2. CHECK ACTIVE HEADREST INFLATOR (for Vehicle Involved in Collision and Airbag not Deployed)
a. Perform a diagnostic system check.
b. With the active headrest inflator removed from the vehicle, perform a visual check. If there are any defects as mentioned below, replace the active headrest inflator with a new one:
- Cuts, minute cracks or marked discoloration on the active headrest inflator.
- Cracks or other damage to the connector.
- Deformation or cracks in the front seat seatback frame assembly LH.
CAUTION: For removal and installation of the active headrest inflator, be sure to follow the correct procedure.
